"Work well, cheap, v. lightweight" 12/01/07
I recently used these with rocks instead of stakes just for fun no snow yet, and they kept the tent in place no problem with decent gusts of wind overnight. They're a little smaller than I thought about 8 x 8 when folded flat, but they get the job done. I expected the outer material to be thin for this price, but it seems relatively durable. Can't wait to fill them with snow and bury them this winter. Bonus - they match the tent.
"Good for sandy situations" 09/17/07
The bag is smaller than I had though it would be but is well made. I bought it for camping on Lake Powell where stakes do not hold unless you load them with rocks and the wind blows mightely. These should provide more area for the rocks to hold onto.
"I will be ordering more!" 06/21/07
Camped in the sand at Assateague Island week of 6/7/07. There were strong thunderstorms with winds of 45-50 mph and our tent withstood the storm thanks to the Sierra Designs sand stakes. This is a great product ... simple to use ... yet extremely effective.
"Avoid any lines by not wearing a swim suit. See www.MichiganNudeBeachAdvocates.org" 01/08/07
I bought the sand stakes as a gift. The recepient likes the idea of having them when she kayaks this summer along the rocky shores of Georgian Bay.

I will be buying a set for my sun shelter. Last summer, at the local nude beach, it was difficult keeping my shelter anchored in the sand. As much as I enjoy skinny-dipping, when relaxing on the beach, I prefer being in the shade. The sand stakes will definitely help to keep the sun shelter in place and so protect ALL of me from the UV rays.
"When stakes won't work buy these." 07/12/06
These are very durable snow and sand anchors. i have only used them on the beach so far but they were awesome. The gusts coming off the coast were strong but my tent never moved. I'm glad I bought these.
"Good choice for dry snow or for leave no trace camping." 02/23/06
Can't get much dryer snow than here in the Rockies and these snow stakes worked very well. The bag style made it pretty easy to load and bury. Should work really well with rock or sand too. The only bad comment is that the fabric is not a type of rip-stop so you have to be very careful digging it out of the snow after the snow sets up.
