I use this bag extensively on caving trips to keep clothing and food dry (the dry bag goes inside a larger caving pack). After multiple 12+ hour trips in which this bag has been continuously exposed to water and mud I have never had any of the inner contents get wet. The material is extremely thick and durable and seems to do its job of keeping water out. The 5 liter bag can easily fit 2 polypropylene base layers plus room for food. Although pricey, I would recommend this dry bag because of its durability.
If you need something to stay dry . . . get some SealLine canyon bags!! Tossed all our electronics (read "phones") into one on a canoe trip a few weeks ago and they all stayed dry as could be. Ya know . . . we didn't flip or anything . . . cause we're ballin canoe-ist-ers and whatnot . . . but HAD we of flipped, they woulda stayed nice and dry!
"Kept our close dry during a 3 day voyage across lake Michigan"
My two buddies and I used these bags to keep our stuff dry during a stormy voyage from Chicago to South Haven Michigan. They worked great and we were able to finally dry off after reaching the harbor thanks to these bags. Well worth having especially when weather is so unpredictable. Go for it!
