The Sea to Summit Alpha Light Long Spoon. The Alpha Light Cutlery uses a durable hard-anodized aircraft grade aluminum combined with a sleek yet-strong shape to create an extremely lightweight utensil at a surprisingly affordable price. By hard anodizing the aluminum it forms a kind of "exoskeleton," so the shape of the utensils can be slimmerand lighter. This hardened shell also encapsulates the aluminum, so there's no risk of the alloy leaching onto food.

Alpha Light Cutlery is available in two sets. The two-piece is the ultimate lightweight backpacker's set. Also available individually: fork, knife, spork, regular length spoon, the unique and ultra light SHORT spoon and the popular LONG spoon. The long-handled spoon design is perfect for eating out of individual camp food packets and using tall pots now popular with the Jetboil-shape stove/pot kits.

"PERFECT accessory for JetBoils and food bags!" 02/20/13

After years of getting my hands covered in water dehydrated foods I was eating out of my JetBoil, I finally bought one of these and hit myself for not buying one sooner. Awesome idea, awesome quality, sick looking spoon. Get one.

"Great for dehydrated meals and MREs" 08/16/12

I bought this instead of the space age titanium version. The spoon is super light anyway, so aside from a few differences in strength and negligible weight, I think it was the better deal. I’m not 100% sold on the “spoon” portion that holds the food. It works great but is a really goofy design that takes some getting used to. The handle also has a grippy texture to it, which makes it great for wet conditions or when it’s super cold and your grip could use some help. The length is adequate but I wish it was maybe an extra inch longer to help keep my hand and fingers from getting food on them.

"Perfect for freeze dried meals" 05/21/12

On a camping trip, it's often the little things that make life more pleasant - like not getting sticky fingers trying to get the last morsels out of your backpacker pantry beef stroganoff.

"Keeps You Clean" 02/12/12

This is like an iced-tea spoon for your meals: you can reach far into the pouch and scrape out all of the goodness without getting your hands dirty. This is very important to me, and it's even more important if I am wearing gloves. The spoon comes with a tiny little carabiner so that you can clip your spoon to the inside of your pack. The spoon is light without being bendy.

"Like the Spoon" 10/31/11

The best thing about this spoon is that it is long enough to get food out of dehydrated food bags without getting your fingers dirty and the little carabiner on the end means I can attach it to my pack and it doesn't get lost halfway through my trip. Other than that, it works like any spoon. If you backpack, and eat out of bags, or you tend to lose things, this spoon is for you.

"Freeze Dried Meals? get this spoon" 04/12/11

This spoon is designed to reach down to the bottom of freeze dried meal pouches and get to the good stuff, with out getting it all over you. It works...... Nuf said.

"I always forget where I put it..." 07/10/10

It's a spoon with a long handle. Need I say more? oh, right. It's very lite. Works great for eating. Even two can use it, as long as your ok with sharing a spoon with said person. The packaging is a little overboard though. Can we get some recyclable paper and not this weird plastic stuff?But really what the problem is, I always forget where I pack it cause I just throw it in the pack. I think that's more indicative of my packing style than of anything about the spoon though.

"Stole my idea!!!" 04/16/10

No more burned knuckles getting the last of the Ramen from the jet boil. Weighs nothing. With the small biner supplied, you can attach it to the outside of your pack and look really...........
