"Great winter mountaineering boot for cool climate"  08/30/12

I used Mythos Pro GTX Boots to summit Mount Kosciusko - the highest mountain on Australian mainland. Although the mountain is only 2,228m high, in winter, the weather can change rapidly and it gets very cold and windy. Was walking with snowshoes in -5C to -15C for 5-6 hours per day and my feet were warm and comfortable going up and down hill. I wore thermal liners and heavy-duty socks. I used waterproofing wax on my boots prior to the trip and the leather stayed dry although my boots were covered with snow for several hours per day. Great ankle support, particularly when walking sideways on the mountain and one of your feet is always higher than the other.
