The William Screw-Lock Carabiner by Petzl is a manual locking pear-shaped carabiner with a large opening making it best suited for organizing at belays with a Munter hitch. This uniquely patented Keylock gate uses a key-shaped nose on the 'biner and slot-shaped gate to create a strong, snag-free closure. The William Screw-Lock has a red band to indicate when the device is unlocked to leave you climbing or caving confidently when you go to double-check your gear. The Keylock system helps prevent snagging of the carabiner during maneuvers and is recommended for dirty environments where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction.
