"GriGri is better..." 11/06/12

The Petzl stop is not the best designed descender. There are probably too many flaws to name, but I'll name a few: You need to constantly push down on the lever to keep you locked, and there is too much traction to keep you going fast enough. The best way to go is the Petzl GriGri.

"Its blue can you go wrong" 04/29/12

Well everyone in europe uses these so i guess living in spain i should give it a try. I love how simple and easy it is to use works great. Very easy to control and learn on :) I mean if you need a nice blue single rope descender than this is your ticket to the movies.

"Descending nicely" 10/04/09

At the first i think it only would help me because it is a lot smaller tha the rack but then i realize that it is a very comfortable device to descends, it manage itself, the automatic brake and the systems gets you down nice and slowely.

The Petzl Stop Descender its a self-braking descender for single rope, its really great, i used anoher carabiner as a brake

"Not just a descender" 07/11/08

At first I bought it primarily for first time rappelers. After one weekend of use, I quickly realized it is a very versatile little tool to have for working with rope. Well worth the price.

"Try it!" 10/29/07

Extremely simple to use and lock off. Great quality. It does slip a bit depending on rope type, size, and weather conditions.
