The Women's Tres Parka by Patagonia. The Tres Parka is a 3-in-1 waterproof/windproof down coat for the coldest climes; it's made of polyester stretch twill and has an H2No barrier and Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish. As they say in France and some parts of the Great White North a.k.a. Canada, this parka is "tres chic." There's an accent in there somewhere, but let's not get technical.

"Best in Show: Versatile, Functional, Work and Recreation Multi Tasker"
I was sick of trying to find the right coat for every occasion. I live in a mountain town and own a couple of Patagonia coats (one for running, one for snuggling, one for hiking). This coat lets me go everywhere and look just right. Obviously, it's too long (I'm 5'9" and it hits me mid thigh) to ski in. I can bike commute in the rain in the outer shell because it has a two way zipper. I can put on my Nano Puff under Tres both layers if it's really cold and peel the Tres off before I head out on a Nordic ski. Put in on back at the car and I'm toasty and ready for a 10 Barrel Beer at the brewpub. I wear it to work with my fancy pants and boots and no one knows it's Patagonia because they thoughtfully put the logo on the DNR layer quietly on the sleeve. Fits like a dream. With my athletic build (I've got shoulders, hips and quads) it fits snug at the waist but I can sit easily and move freely. Would buy another one if this one wasn't so darn perfect.
I absolutely am in love with this coat. I just bought it a little over a week ago before we got hit with snow here in Michigan and it's been my best purchase of the christmas season! Not only is it trendy, but the coat hits my legs around mid thigh which is perfect when drafts of wind come through. The length also makes the coat so it doesn't rise to show your back when you sit down. It's also not too long that it will make someone with smaller legs look even shorter. This jacket is extremely warm and very comfortable. I'm interested in seeing how this coat will benefit me during the spring as the layers break apart offering flexibility year round. I would buy this coat again in a heart beat and definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a trendy, warm coat through the cold winter seasons.
"Nice Parka, but Waist Shaping Too Severe"
I purchased the Patagonia Tres Parka online based on positive reviews and Patagonia's reputation for excellent quality outerwear. Though the quality and versatility of the parka did not disappoint, the fit was not what I was looking for. Though I like a bit of tapering at the waist for a flattering fit, I found the waist shaping on this parka to be too severe. I will be returning this item as it would be difficult for me to wear anything other than a very fitted light sweater comfortably under this jacket.I am 5' 6" 130lbs and ordered a size Medium.I have included garment measurements below for reference. All measurements were taken on the flat:Across Chest (1" below armholes, straight across garment): 20.5"Waist at narrowest point: 18"Bottom Sweep: (following the hem contour) 25.25"Hope this helps you make an informed purchasing decision.
So I choose this coat because it seemed like a good bargain compared to the actually price on the Patagonia website (though still expensive). Online I didn't think it looked cute at all and I was just hoping it would keep me warm through Canadian winters but it's actually super cute on! It's a little on the small side (slim fit) but nothing a few crunches...well maybe more than a few crunches...will fix. Also I expected it to be a lot heaver and thick but it's actually pretty light and not bulky but still warm! The pockets on the outside are relatively small though - my hand won't fit in them and I have small hands, but other than that I feel like it will last a long time and was a good purchase.
I purchased the Fiona Patagonia coat earlier this season, which didn't keep me warm enough. I decided to splurge once this coat went on sale, and very glad I did. I can use the trench without the parka in the fall/spring. I sized up as this coat as a slim fit and I do like to wear layers. The grey color is classic! So nice not to have another black coat.
This has saved my wife from some pretty bitterly cold days here in NYC. When the windchill is below freezing she normally wears this with just a T-shirt underneath and is, I quote "toasty warm". Not sure whether she has small hand or others have large ones but she has no complaints about pocket size. She tried on, bought, and returned MANY other coats and while this one's expensive - it's worth the money over others.
"Cannot Say Enough Good Things About This Coat!"
I love this coat! I didn't purchase it through MooseJaw (wish I had!) but I love it so much, I felt compelled to write a review for it here! It's like 3 jackets in 1! So worth the price! Very flattering and sleek looking and you can dress it up or down! Keeps me so toasty and warm and it's super easy to remove the down liner and wear just the shell alone or the down jacket! It even has pockets so it looks like a completely separate coat by itself! It was certainly a splurge but it's so functional! 100% worth it!!!
I'm a 163 cm 54 kilos heavy women - a bit bold shoulders - have usually problems with sizes - use m in triolet but could also have had an s but wanted to be able to move without anything stopping me over the sholders and the elbows- can anyone refer to this and give me a size clue?
"The perfect balance of practicality and fashion!"
This coat is absolutely wonderful. I had been eyeing it for months, and it magically went on sale. The inner layer is adorable by itself. It is form fitting and it is quite warm. Living in Chicago and having to walk at least a mile outside daily, I needed a warm coat but still wanted to look cute! This is it. My only complaint is that the outer shell has extremely small pockets. I have small hands, xs in gloves, and they barely fit in there! Let alone my phone. For sizing reference I am 5' 4" and 115 and ordered the XS and it fits like a glove. Sleeves are the perfect length, and it hits my knees. If you are unsure about this coat, buy it. You will not regret it.
"Get ready to welcome a warm, chic, versatile new best friend into your wardrobe."
I needed a warm coat that would look nice. This coat does that and so much more. I'm 5'3" and it falls just before my knees- perfect for keeping wind out and covering the ends of dresses. It feels amazing on- the waist cinches in the tiniest bit so that you can actually feel like you have curves. The hood fits amazingly well. And the collar looks extremely chic. When the weather got up to 45-50º and rainy, I separated the coats and used the outer trench. It was very water and wind proof. The under coat's diamond stitching erases the puff effects and I love wearing it on its own too. Patagonia did everything right. 3 different coats in one, and a cut that will be trendy forever.
This coat is a wonderful coat to wear to the office or out to play. It is warm and can keep you toasty in all kinds of weather. This is a must have. I would recommend this jacket to everyone. It is warm and so soft. It is also very stylish. Moosejaw has the best selection and the greatest deals.
