The Patagonia Women's Pelage Jacket is made with unique curly high-pile fleece and crafted into a vintage, softer than soft winter jacket. The asymmetrical front closure and swing-style design provide a feminine fit, plus a heavier weight of 26.8 oz. means that you will be bundled up to the max. The Pelage by Patagonia also provides contrast lining for style and hand-warmer pockets in case you forget your gloves. Or in case you have really crappy gloves that don’t keep your hands warm like they’re supposed to.

"Really pretty, really flattering, easy to dress up or dress down!"
I saw the coat and knew right away that the white was coming home with me. The coat is very elegant looking and I couldn't wait to wear it out with my boyfriend. He couldn't keep his eyes off me (thanks Patagonia) I agree with several of the other posts regarding the arms. I workout so do not have bird arms. I wear a medium but went for the large even though it is big on me everywhere else. I get compliments each and every time I wear it. Buy it, but if you workout and don't have super skinny arms definitely get the next size up!
This jacket is absolutely beautiful!! It is sharp to the eye and soft to the touch!! Unfortunately, unless you have bird arms...you aren't going to appreciate the fit. The area from the shoulders to the elbow is EXTREMELY narrow and limits the jacket's potential. I hope that Patagonia is able to rectify this one design error but it is a beauty!!
Ok, so was a bit hesitant when ordering this jacket. After all, outdoorsey stuff isn't exactly known for it's style. I must say, I am totally and pleasantly surprised by this jacket. It is warm, comfy, functional, and totally pacifies the fashionista piece of me! Runs extremely true to size and seems to be very well made. The only possible downside to this jacket is that people want to stroke it. However, that's not even a downside really, as we all liked to be stroked, right? As far as I'm concerned, they can stroke it to the east, they can stroke it to the west, stroke it cuz I love this jacket best!
"Looks much better in person than the picture"
I'm only reviewing this to let you know the jacket looks a lot better in real life than it does on the pictures here. It's very soft and pretty warm but I've only worn it as a casual everyday jacket, not really tested in too cold yet. I love the silky feel and hope that it stays that way even after it hits the laundry eventually
Once again another great item from Patagonia! I have so many of their technical pieces but love that they have casual, even dressy pieces also. I got this in the white/cream color and it does not disappoint. Initially I sized up to a M after reading reviews however there was just too much materal around the chest/waist so I exchanged it for a S. Bingo!! I'm 125lb, 36A, broad shoulders, athletic build and I find this a perfect fit. Room to spare for layers underneath and not too tight across the chest or in the arms. It is a little cropped and hits me at the waist but it drapes beautifully and has a nice swing to it. Can be dressed up with dresses and skirts or looks great with jeans. It feels amazing to prepare to be touched, a lot!!
This jacket is fabulous. It's the perfect jacket to dress up or down. I currently have the white but like it so much I am going to get it in another color. This jacket runs true to size, but if you want ot wear anything thick under it size up, as the sleeves are a little tight and don't have any give. This jacket looks designer and really expensive - can not believe that it is made by patagonia! So soft - definitely will keep this one around for awhile.
The Patagonia Pelage Jacket is lovely, soft, & stylish. However, sleeve from shoulder to elbows are tight. They are either cut too narrow, OR, sleeves are reversed top & bottom. I've sewn all my life, making blouses, dresses, jackets, etc. It would be easy for reversal to occur. If this is impossible for you to imagine, then the pattern is out of proportion as bottom of sleeves are very large. I read the two reviews then chatted with your salesperson prior to purchase to ensure correct size. Jacket fits well, except for tight upper sleeves. If purchased locally, I would return it because of tight uncomfortable sleeves.
I had my doubts about this jacket, but I am pleased to say all doubts are removed now that I have worn it. It is soft and the grey has a gorgeous silky pink lining. The only downside I can find is that the lining is not stretchy, so if you are in between sizes I would order up. The jacket is true to Patagonia sizing.
Very beautiful and feminine ~ able to wear for casual or for dressier occasions. Patagonia very thoughtfully did not put a brand name label on the outside (thank you, Patagonia!). It looks elegant while having all the functionality of an outdoors jacket that blocks wind and keeps you warm; Yay! Style and comfort combined... In case it helps someone else: i am 5'6", 125 lbs, 34B, and i ordered the size medium in the Pearl. I have swimmer / ashtanga yoga developed shoulders, so the medium fits well... The material lining the inside is not so stretchy, If you are broad shouldered with strong deltoids, you may want to consider ordering up a size.
