After having this jacket for a few weeks and experiencing many various types of weather I feel confident to give a review. The jacket does great in the rain and snow. I go to school in Western PA (aka gray skies central) and this jacket has done great over the past few weeks. I have worn it walking around campus and around town. We've had snow storms and rain showers in that period and I wore this through them both. Both the materials are super waterproof. I was skeptical of the bottom material however it didn't absorb a drop!I also wore this skiing the other night and it held up pretty well. The bottom part of the fabric where it is more flexible lets wind through however with the proper fleece underneath you'll be golden. The hood is great as well. It fit over my ski helmet and the draw cord on the hood keeps it on your head even when the wind tries to take it off.
