"ENDLESS LOVE" 02/22/13
I absolutely LOVE this coat. I live in Ottawa, Canada and our winters can get cold, so I needed something that will keep all of me toasty warm and this coat is beyond what I expected. I call it my portable sleeping bag, because it's the most comfortable and warm coat I have ever owned in my life. I don't even mind having to venture out into the cold now. When I showed it to my mom she also love it and I'm pretty sure she will be looking to get one for herself.Overall, this coat is terrific...highly recommended for colder climates!
"Very warm and cute to wear" 02/07/13
Love the coat - especially the way it fits! Its warm without the bulk. Very form fitting, so I'm not sure you can wear a thick bulky sweater, but I don't think you need to. I'm always cold, so I needed to make sure I had a coat that was going to keep me warm without making me feel like the Staypuff marshmallow man! Two things I didn't like: 1) there is no lining. Found that to be weird. Bet it would have been warmer with a lining. 2) the zipper goes allllll the wayyyyy down to the bottom of the coat which makes zipping it a little awkward. I probably would have given it a Love it if it were not for those 2 things.
"LA girl living in Montreal....this jacket kept me so warm." 02/04/13
The jacket is super lightweight, but so very warm. It's super stylish, cinches in the waist, and the detailing in the paneling gives a very flattering shape. The fold over neckline to hood is beautifully done. It kept me warm in 0 degrees weather. The only thing i would of changed about the jacket is the sleeves, it should be cuffed inside to keep in the heat and shut out the wind. It's not a big deal though, if it's that cold most likely you will be wearing gloves.
"Style without sacrificing warmth" 01/10/13
Hooray for a warm and durable coat that does not make me look like a walking sleeping bag. I just received my coat and went outside without wearing a double layer of pants and was cozy! I am 5'2'' and this coat on me goes to mid-calf. For all you short ladies out there, do not despair. This coat looks beautiful and does not overwhelm your frame(I wear 4) due to the cut. The slim cut means it actually looks quite chic. The pockets are lined with a fleecy material and are deep and big enough to hold your gloves or mittens securely. The double zipper means you can sit comfortably. This is a light coat. You won't feel the weight of this coat over your arm. I love, love this coat.
"Perfect City, Winter Coat" 12/22/12
I live in Chicago, and like the option of being able to walk to work. I needed a coat that could handle the cold, and this coat does just that. It's cut nicely as well, so you don't look like you are just walking around in a sleeping bag.
"This coat is the bomb dot com forward slash everyday of the week" 05/27/12
Moving to Fairbanks, I needed a serious bizness coat. Wearing a down coat often gives the appearance of a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, but I had to survive -45 without bemoaning my existence. Hands down, this coat has made all the difference. In a climate where my eyelashes freeze, this coat has been my savior and is cute to boot. Even when wearing this in a snowstorm, one can tell I am a female because it has a waist. At 5'8" it hits mid-calf. I even wear skirts and tall boots and skip the long underwear sometimes. It's an investment piece, and one I won't regret. This coat was a godsend during one of the coldest Alaskan winters in history. Never has a sleeping bag with arms looked so chic.
"Fantastic Coat - Super Warm and a Fashion Statement at the same time!!" 01/23/12
I bought this coat 2 weeks ago for my daughter who lives in Boston. She is a very fashionable dresser so I was nervous to surprise her with a coat of my choice. She absolutely loves it and said it fits like a top designer coat! It is somewhat fitted so she said she doesn't look like the Michelin Tire Man! What a great coat - super warm and stylish!! Great choice for day and evening wear!
"This coat is the best!" 12/19/11
This is really the best down parka out there! After trying on several in the store I finally went on MJ and got this one. I couldn't be happier! I'm 5'"9 and the medium fits me perfectly. The sleeves are just the right length and it goes down just past my knees to keep my nice and warm. My only advice would be to try one on before you buy it if you are rather short because it is very long.
"Super Warm and Sleek" 04/17/11
I loved my Down With It parka but I love this coat even more. 1) Higher fill & warmer than the Down With It. 2) Slight sheen to fabric & placket covering zipper make it look almost kinda dressy.3) Quilting & seams make it sleek & trim, less bulky. 4) Two quibbles: a) fabric frequently gets caught in the zipper, and b) it's borderline too long: I'm 5'9" and it hits me just below the knee. If I were shorter I think it would feel & look a little too much like I'm wearing my sleeping bag around camp. I've gotten many compliments on it. It's almost certainly the most stylish and attractive coat you're going to get for this much comfort and warmth.
"Not-so-puffy Puffy Coat" 02/01/11
I bought this coat for functionality and thought I'd be settling on the style. I was wrong! It's beautiful in person. The angled quilting makes it look much more feminine than the boxy and puffy I'm-wearing-my-sleeping-bag-around coats. Love the length - keeps all the wind out and is super lightweight. The lining is soft and the buttons around the neck keep out the cold. I also thought the coat looked very shiny online and wasn't too thrilled about it, but when I received it in person, I was happy to find that the finish is just right - no shine. I think this is a great buy for anyone looking for an extreme, cold-weather coat, as well as one that will get compliments!
