"Patagonia R3 Awesome Jacket" 01/27/13
I am 5'9" 160-175 lbs and got a size small and the fit of this jacket is perfect even with a tshirt or long sleeves underneath! Very soft high loft fleece and is has drawstrings on bottom of jacket on both sides to sinch jacket up! Was surprised jacket did not have a small inside pocket like a few of my other fleece jackets but its no big deal! One complaint is sleeve ends are a little loose wished there was adjustable cuffs or spandex matterial so it would be a tighter fit! Overall the jacket is a solid fleece jacket and would highly recommend it as well as Mountain Hardwear Monkey Jacket, these by far are the two best high loft thermal pro fleece jackets I have ever owned!
"Great Jacket" 01/15/13
This is the softest jacket I've ever owned. It's very light but at the same time it's very warm. I got it in dill and it looks great. My only concern is the durability of the jacket. Since it's so light and soft, it feels a little fragile. I haven't had it for very long though so we'll see what happens in the future.
"Literally the best thing I bought all year" 12/16/12
This jacket is amazing...the color is so new and in vogue...it holds up really well when washed. There has been no pilling so far which is great. It fits true to size and definitely has a slimming effect (or so my wife says).. For anyone on the envelope about this item I say to with your gut and get it as you won't regret it.. Thanks Moose Jaw for another great item
"Nice jacket" 11/04/12
Bought this for my boyfriend as he needed a warm jacket for fall. So far he likes it and wears it alot. I was pretty skeptical that the XL would fit him since he's 6'6, but he's skinny enough so it's not too tight or anything. The sleeves were fine, but it could be a little longer in the torso... Like most Patagonia stuff its well made and definitely worth it if you can get it on sale like I did! :)
"Great coat, perfect for the cold fall/spring days" 10/29/12
I recently purchased the Patagonia R3 in the grey. I highly recommend this coat, as it is perfect for the cold fall and spring days where you need a nice comfy coat to get you through the days.
"Versatile fleece everyone will want to grope" 10/22/12
After going back and forth between the R2 and R3 I decided to spend a little more for the R3. Glad I did. The fit is great...like many Patagonia offerings a little slim in torso (which I love) so it could be a bit snug for some. Three pockets, zipper garage, elastic drawstring adjustment and the whole bit...but the coolest (warmest?) feature of the R3 is the material. The fleece feels as if it was ripped straight from a Muppet's ass. It is insanely soft and everyone will want to touch it, which might improve your social life.
"Very warm" 08/29/12
This is a classic piece. Just the right amount of down to keep it nice and toasty, but light enough to wear through the beginning of fall/spring. (I use it on most days except the coldest of winter). The DWR coating fights off moisture, and the polyester rip-stop keeps the wind at bay. Once you go down, you don't go back, its just a more 'cozy' warmth than similar synthetic insulated pieces. The one thing that does bug me a bit about the jacket (if i had to nit-pick) is the fit.
"Super light, super warm, super soft!!!" 08/28/12
Female, 5'3" got the men's xs. Fits like perfect glove and feel so so good on! Just spent a week in Yellowstone with it and I'm stoked I had it with me. Kept me toasty warm on cool 40F mornings!!! It's so soft and lofty. I love just snuggling up in it. Mango is BOSS!!!
"Like a hug from Chewbacca" 08/01/12
I've owned some form of Patagonia Retro fleece since the nineties. I'll tell ya... they've only gotten better. I've already amended my will to stipulate that I'll be buried in it even though I've actually stipulated a Viking funeral, so I guess I've asked to be burned and then sunk in it. Too warm? Unzip. Too cold? Throw on a shell. Stretchy in the right spots, furry in the rest. And since it's not actual Wookie action... You don't have to worry about forgetting to call in the morning.
"Great jacket, but...." 04/13/12
In a nutshell: This is a very warm jacket that feels good to wear. I've owned the R3 for about 7 months now and it's gone on almost every adventure I have had. I've had a lot of use from this jacket, and gotten many compliments. Not to mention all the girls LOVE to pet it's furry fleece exterior. It's a better chick magnet than me! My only complaint is that after seven months of regular use/abuse it has lost much of it's loft and stretched out in the arms and back panel (from my daypack) despite semi-regular cleanings. After sitting in a desk chair, and wearing a backpack between classes, the back panel of my R3 is paper thin.
"Warm and Stylish" 03/09/12
I bought this jacket for a top layer for hiking and climbing. It hasn't been that cold in Michigan this winter so I have been using it a lot as my jacket for hiking. With a base layer and a fleece, I have been using it comfortably to 15 degrees. Hasn't been much colder for the past couple of weeks so I haven't seen how low it will go. I wore it to the store the other day and was stopped and told it looked like a nice jacket. Highly recommend it.
