"Great Go-To Jacket" 04/02/13
I got this jacket back in December and it's become my everyday jacket, even in a Michigan winter. With a warm pullover on underneath it, this jacket has kept me warm down to 25-30 degrees. It fits me rather well as I'm 6'3" 185lbs--a little loose in the midsection, but then it fits a heavier insulating layer. The sleeves are rather long which is great. I highly recommend this jacket.
"My go to jacket for everyday" 03/27/13
I picked this jacket up on sale and absolutely love it. I'm a big guy who is warm blooded. I made it through an NC winter with nothing but this jacket. It's warm without being hot. It protects from wind and in a light rain you will only want for a hood. I recommend this jacket to anyone looking for an everyday jacket in all weather conditions.
"Wind stopper!" 03/19/13
Great jacket!!! Stops wind as described. Fits a bit slim so if your needing to layer underneath, you might get a bigger size. Adjustable cuffs are great for keeping you hands free. Material is durable, I don't see this thing ripping from a simple snag. This jacked has made me very happy on 30 mph windy days!!!
"The bottom line is.. it's top of the line." 02/05/13
Bought this jacket for my boyfriend. He loves it. I love it. It is the most flattering jacket with great features. Love that it blocks wind and resists water. A great jacket for climbing or just looking really ridiculously good looking.
"Great overall jacket for any outdoor activity" 12/27/12
This is an amazing jacket. I do track and field and so far the weather hasn't bothered me once.100% windproof, decently waterproof(unless you get hosed down by the fire department), and its really warm. The microfleece doesn't seem like much but it's really warm, I was able to stand out in 40 degree weather without shirt and it kept me cozy. Yes the sleeves are long but not a huge issue as they can substitute as gloves. Since its windproof, the jacket isn't too breathable. An amazing jacket at an amazing price, anyone looking at this should definitely pick it up, won't be a disappointment. Also, I'm 5'6 at 120 pounds, and I'm able to wear my NorthFace Khumbu under.
"Sleeves are fine length" 12/23/12
Reading some reviews before my purchase I was worried about the length of sleeves, but it wasn't warranted. I am 6' 165 lbs with a fairly athletic build. I am usually a Medium in Patagonia shirts and this jacket is no different. The sleeves are on the longer side, but similar to my R1 Hood. Patagonia gear usually has longer sleeves than many other companies, which is a good then when you are athletically proportioned and actually using the gear for its intended purpose. You don't need to worry about developing a gap between your jacket and gloves while fiddling with your ski touring gear or stretched out on a bike. If Patagonia gear usually fits you, this jacket will too
"high quality excellent piece of outdoor gear." 12/04/12
This is a well made, good looking multifunctional softshell. Even though this jacket is made for the outdoors, I bought it to use around town and to wear to the office. I am 5' 10", 160 lbs and have a 42" chest and a large fits me just right. I can comfortably layer beneath it or over it. The sleeves don't ride up my forarms when reaching above my head. The only improvement that I would make would be to increase the size of the internal chest pocket. It will barely hold a cell phone or wallet. Overall this is an awesome jacket!
"Another awesome product from Patagonia!" 11/11/12
This jacket exceeds all expectations I had for it, especially with its modest price! It is extremely warm yet breathable, and I've worn it on multiple climbing trips. The breathability and stream-lined, rather slim fit makes this jacket very versatile, and the pockets are well placed as well as functional. The sleeves are a tad long for everyday use, yet perfect for active pursuits where you're stretching out and need the extra inch or so. All in all, I wouldn't change a thing about this jacket. I highly recommend it!
"Functionality and style!" 11/07/12
The adze jacket was exactly what I was looking for: a lightweight, windproof, jacket that offers mobility while I'm moving. The fabric is almost stretchy, so it doesn't restrict arm movement and the interior is a very soft sort of micro fleece. Definitely keeps the wind out and repels moisture... Just don't think it's going to keep you warm when the temps really drop. It's not insulated... more of a windbreaker really, so plan on using mostly for cool fall and spring days. If your stuck between sizes, I'd recommend going with the smaller... Unless you wish to layer up underneath. The sleeve length runs a tad long, but the adjustable cuffs will ensure they stop at your wrists.
"Patagonia Adze" 08/02/12
Have only had this a couple weeks now, haven't had the chance to really test it as I would like as the weather has been so nice here, but the initial impression from when I have used it so far its this is an awesome, light, warm, super versatile piece.Used it out waterskiing early a few mornings, was super impressed with the windproofing cruising around on the chilly lake when everyone else in the boat in a regular hoody was shivering I was totally comfortable.Overall I really like this thing and think I have found my new go to jacket to toss in the back of the car or bottom of the pack 'just in case' Looking forward to being able to test it fully it once it cools down moving into fall.
"sizing is big" 07/24/12
first patagonia jacket i've bought, and i since i bought it online, i followed the sizing guide and bought a small (i'm 5'10" 150lbs). it's much bigger than I usually like my jackets. don't understand why the extra small jackets aren't on sale, but the smalls are. returning it and looking for something more fitted.BUT i did try it on and it seemed like it's really well made and would have kept me warm on my upcoming alaska trip. deep space color was really nice too. just too bad about the sizing.
