"I love this jacket." 01/27/13
What I love about this jacket is first, it is one tough jacket. Second is the big front pockets, which makes a perfect place shove your skins. Third, the hand gaskets are pretty nice. The jacket is a little longer then a lot of jackets, which I like to keep me dry. I have the Mango version of this jacket, I know it looks bright, but it really is a pretty nice color. Disclaimer: I received this jacket from Gore as part of a product testing group.

"best shell available" 12/23/12
Full disclosure, I am a Gore-Tex Mountaintech. This jacket is the absolute best shell I have ever used. It has all the stuff you want: waterproof, windproof, breathable, lightweight. It also has fully adjustable hood, sweet soft wrist gaskets, big pit zips. I am 6'1 190 lbs, and a large fits me perfect; large enough to put layer underneath, or on warmer days just a single layer will treat you well. Bottom line, if you are looking for a solid, well constructed gore-tex shell with all the bells and whistles and the stamp of approval from Patagonia, this is THE jacket.
"Hurricane Proof" 12/21/12
Talk about a good first impression. Right after I got this jacket I was in the thick of it that was Super Storm/ Hurricane Sandy. In both the rain and the snow that it dumped on us it certainly proved its worth. Hands down my favorite thing about this jacket is the wrist gaskets...what a great addition. The fit is spot on as it is cut athletic but easy to layer underneath as the temps drop. At this point I have been through multiple Gore-tex Shells and this is my favorite so far. Its burly and is taking all the abuse I can give it. As a disclaimer I test products for the Gore company.
"bombproof superjacketzilla" 10/29/12
this jacket is so well made. I would usually swear by arc'tyrex but this jacket surprised me. i love the snug fit. best hood I've seen by far. the rubber gaskets at the wrists are an awesome addition and the chest pockets are designed so that they can balloon out if you need the extra space. shell material feels especially resistant. This jacket has all the extras. Still a fan of arc'tyrex but prior to wearing this jacket I wouldn't have expected anything could compare. This jacket does. disclaimer: I field test and occasionally receive Gore-Tex jackets for that purpose.
"Totally my style" 08/29/12
It took awhile to find an insulating jacket that fit my needs. Marmot Cauldron, too loose. Patagonia UL Down, warm but funky translucent didn't lend itself to work wear. Arcteryx Atom LT, not as warm as expected. Then I found this gem and love it. Fit is consistent with other Patagonia jackets. It's warm, light, and doesn't sacrifice duarability. All a great jacket that I look forward to having for many more years.
