"Great tee for a chilly day. Wicks moisture, but keeps you warm if need be..."

9/03/12I bought this tee knowing that Patagonia makes remarkable products. This shirt wicks moisture very well, great breathability, and does a good job fending off any sunburn you may experience. The shirt is great for backpacking as well due to the off the shoulder seem line. I used it multiple times for hiking and just hanging out in to the wee hours of the morning and it worked great from start to finish. No sweat and then held in my heat well enough so I didn't require and jacket... It is a little thicker than most polyester shirts, but I found it to work performance wise just as good. I give this shirt a 9.5!!!
Having bought Patagonia's polarized tee for the first time a few years back, i was always impressed with the flex of the fabric while dry or wet. It could just be in my head, but this years' design seems to have much less give. Washing it a few times and the problem seems to get worse. Still a decent tee just not nearly as functional as when new.
I own this shirt in several colors, and it's my favorite, most versatile tee. I've taken it to the beach (both in and out of the water, since it dries super fast and has decent UPF), floated down the river in it, used it as a t-shirt under a polo, and taken it gym climbing (again, for quick drying). It feels like soft cotton and is pretty lightweight--a little heavier than Patagonia's Cap 2 but not as breathable. It fits closer than regular tees (slim fit). Only drawback: some light pilling, even though I line dry exclusively. The shoulder seams are awesome for carrying a pack comfortably.
I was trying to purchase a few regular T Shirts and this is more of a performance piece. It has a bit of a shine to it and is definitely not something I would wear as an everyday shirt.
