The Patagonia Men's Merino 3 MW Zip-Neck is a merino wool base layer for all of your cold weather adventures. Merino wool (80%) is blended with Capilene (20%) to create a durable, wicking layer you can wear all day and into the night. Off-set seams throughout the garment reduce bulk and make it comfortable to wear a pack or harness over top. Merino is naturally odor-resistant so your buddies won't mind hanging out with you after the third day on the trail. When you get all steamed up, open up the 1/4 zip to quickly vent and regulate your temperature. Totally not how I expected to finish that sentence.

"quality merino baselayer with athletic fit"
This is my go-to baselayer for winter runs. Thus far I've combined 3 runs totaling 4-5 hours in it without it getting stinky (one of the big benefits of merino)... and I've done this several times. It's my only running top I pack when I travel somewhere that will be 35-50 degrees. The zipper doesn't bounce around noisily. Thumb loops are great. Fit is athletic cut, but not skin tight. I am 5'10'' and 150lbs, and a small is a perfect fit... plus it might shrink a little if I pop it in the dryer after a wash. As far as merino products, it's about as good as it gets. Seams don't rub and it seems durable enough for a few seasons of hard use.
