I love the capilene 4 hoody and wanted this as the ultimate snuggie. Unfortunately the small was too small for me at 5'9" and 150 lbs, and like others I found the back flap suboptimal, the zips didn't want to go up smooth and wanted to creep down. I'm sure it would make a great base layer for the cold but I had to return it. I really hope they improve upon this design and do this again.
Nice slim fit . 5'9" 175 Med fits me just right. Soft streachy and oh so warm. Not in love with the flap zippers. One or the other will slightly come down at times. The hood has a nice fit and will come in handy under a helmet or hat. Well made piece by Patagonia!
If you are already familiar with Patagonia's Capilene 4 tops and/or bottoms then you know what to expect from the material: a soft, tight-fitting, stretchable fabric that serves as a tremendous base layer in cold conditions. As soon as I saw they were making a one-piece suit I was instantly excited as I was eager to eliminate what is one of my biggest annoyances; the top and bottom layers separating from each other and letting cold air get to my skin when bending over.Unfortunately I have not been impressed with the design of the back flap on the one-piece suit. Two zippers bring the flap up and down to create an opening but the flap that hangs over the top of the separation has a habit of rolling up while the zippers want to loosen and the backside flap starts to fall.Overall I still love Patagonia's Capilene 4 layers, but the design of the one-piece suit left me with something to be desired.
