"typical patagonia product, nothing but the best" 02/01/13
Love these bottoms. Use them as my mid layer for backpacking. Was suprised how warm they kept me because at first glance they appear to be very thin. I guess Patagonia knew what they were doing when designing these. Thin, lightweight but super warm... If your thinking about ordering these, dont hesitate. Buy them ASAP
"BEST QUALITY LONG-UNDERWEAR AROUND" 01/26/13
I purchased my first pair of Patagonia Capilene bottoms over 10 years ago when I first went out to Alaska to work the slime line (if you've done it, you know what it is), and haven't purchased any other brand since. I have light weight and heavy weight, and now added these medium weight to my collection. I pretty much wear these every day starting in October til March or when it warms up. I'm an avid outdoorsman and wear them everyday to work as well. Very durable, and last a long time as long as you take care of them. I still wear the first pair I bought over 10 years ago. If I could only use a sewing machine to fix the waist band.....Daaaaaad! Jiggin Joe
"Warm and soft" 01/07/13
I love Patagonia under layers. They are warm, fit slimly and even look pretty good (at least the tops, I don't know how many bottoms look good on their own). They're also pretty light. I'm 6'00, 160 lbs and the medium fits me well.
"Totally Worth It" 12/20/12
This is quite simply the most well-made and comfortable base layer I've ever worn. Lightweight, and breathable, the capilene material feels good against the skin (not scratchy). Plus, these bottoms are wonderfully designed to provide a snug, non-restrictive fit. They'll provide more-than-adequate warmth in chilly to moderately cold conditions when worn under jeans or a shell. Highly recommended.
"Warm and nice!" 08/20/12
The only down size is that I think that the sizes ran a little big for what was described. Other then that these were a perfect layer for a 9 day excursion in North Cascades in Mid May. Warm when you need them and easy to pack away when you don't need that heat. Side not great pillow in a small stuff sack
"My primary base layer." 06/24/12
I use this pants everywhere. Summer, autumn, winter, spring - whenever. They are really work and always keep you dry. In "high" mountains or when it's just cold I always use them with polartec 200 and hard shell layers in different combinations. I guess it gives wider choice than if you just wear heavyweight base layer and hard shell.
"Excellent base layer" 04/20/12
Very comfortable and lightweight, and the construction seems durable. Surprisingly warm for the weight. Wicks moisture away well (though I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of the "Gladiodor odor control"). Had my doubts about the elastic waistband, but it never even began to chafe. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and size S gives me the correct "slim fit". Good for skiing because the fit is just loose enough around the ankles and calves that these can be rolled up above the boot rather than being trapped down into it.
"As good as underwear get" 03/03/12
These are solid construction and gladly meet all the hype about Patagonia base layers. Amazing construction with over sewn seems and great soft fabrics. To test these I wore them under running shorts for a midwinter run. I went a couple of miles through the snow and blowing wind and I never felt a bit of wind come through. I also used them winter backpacking and with great success. No fancing sizing, just buy your normal size. I will never buy anything else.
