"Recommend it. Super comfy and breathable. WIll buy more of these"
I ordered my first Patagonia Men's Capilene 2 LW crew not really knowing what to expect, but the reviews seemed to say a lot of good things. I received my order in the mail promptly. I wanted to try it out right when I got it, so I put it on and went to the local gym to do some climbing. Ive never felt so comfortable climbing than in this shirt. It has been getting cold around where I live and this has kept me warm and at the same time it breaths well for when you work up a sweat. I am definitely going to be ordering a few more of these! Get one you wont regret it. I look forward to trying out some of the other patagonia base layers.
"Perfect For a Summer Morning or Base Layer"
Wore this shirt right when I got it on an early morning kayak. Took a dip in Lake Michigan for about 15 minutes in the middle of Grand Traverse Bay. Water temps were in the mid to high 60's and it cooled my core temp. Put this back on in the Kayak and it warmed me right back up. Perfect fit Medium and I'm 5' 9" 160lbs. Gotta Love Patagonia!
"Same great quality you expect from Patagonia."
I purchased a similar shirt from Patagonia about 10 years ago. I still love to use that shirt, but because of some wear and tear around the elbows I decided to look for its eventual replacement. I got this one recently and am extremely happy with it.The only small issue (not big enough to exchange it) is the size. The medium that I bought is longer in the sleeves by about 2 inches than my old shirt of similar style (which is also a medium). I am 6 feet tall, so normally wouldn't even consider trying on a small but in this case that might fit my frame better. I don't live near a Moosejaw store to try on different sizes, so I will just live with the extra two inches. Who knows? Maybe I will learn to love them.
"Love this shirt, wear it all the time, need a couple more."
5'10", 175lbs, the medium fits perfect. Slim athletic cut without being to tight. The thing that amazes me the most about this shirt is at how well it breathes, yet still insulates well for being a fairly thin light layer. Also dries really quick. So far has held up agaisnt snags and pilling. This really is my favorite tech shirt and the other cool thing is it doesn't look to tech. Like I said i want more of these. Highly recomend.
I love this shirt. It is light enough to fit under my R1, but still comfortable enough to wear either by itself or with a vest over it. I layer it under my dress shirts on colder winter days so I can go for a walk during lunch while others are inside complaining about how cold it is outside. I find that the crew neck actually makes this a more flexible piece than the zip neck. Buy one, you will not regret it. Sizing: I am 5"-8" and 160 lbs, chest 39", arms 33". Sizing guide says I am a medium (too baggy), but I find that the small has a much better fit to it.
Comfortable, soft, stylish. This shirt is cash money. I wore this under an R1 Hoody and a Snowshot jacket, and it managed moisture and warmth so well, I barely needed to adjust my getup between boarding in the shade and waiting for the lift in sunlight. I felt perfectly prepared for the elements. I feel like this shirt and I will be good buddies for a time to come.
"Great shirt for active, cool weather layering"
This is my "go to" shirt for cool weather trail running and hiking. I wear it by itself in temps from the low 60s to the mid 40s and under an uninsulated shell in temps into the mid 30s. It is very comfortable -- non chafing, quick drying -- and well made. I especially like that the shirt is long, so it will stay put if you tuck it in on a cold day. I am 6'1 and around 190 lbs, and a large fits me well.
Not the warmest of like clothes i have worn but hands down best insulators. Alone it gets a bit chilly, depending on weather, but with as little as a cotton shirt of the top, it keeps a body my size (6'1 210) very warm. Material is very comfortable and durable in a way only Patagonia does. Little pricey but if found on sale its a great buy and you shall not regret it.
I wear my Capilene 2's everywhere! Both the tops and bottoms! They are the near perfect base layer. The only gripe I have against them is the infamous synthetic stink, but this is hardly Patagonias fault, all syn base layers will start to stink after some sweat is worked through them. I wear this as a single piece when backpacking in the spring/fall and it has held up great! No, rips, tears, pilling, etc.... In fact im on the same pair for the last three years! In camp they make a must have layering piece and awesome sleepwear on those colder nights! I love my Patagonia Capilenes!!
