This jacket is perfect! I tried 5 other jackets for my 6 month old before buying this one which I love! It is incredibly warm without all of the bulk, which works perfectly for buckling her in her car seat. I love that it doesn't have a hood as that would also make the car seat uncomfortable. I found it runs pretty true to size. I have an average-sized 6 month old and the 6-12 month size is just a little bit big, but not so big that she is swimming in it. I paired it with the Patagonia Baby Shelled Hat which then covers her head down to the neck, making up for the fact that there isn't a hood (and the hat is much better :) ). All in all, I think it's the best jacket for cold weather -- which we see plenty of in MN and now my daughter is all set!
Absolutely love these down sweaters. I have been wearing mine (in an adult size) year-round for seven years, both by itself and under other jackets. It's beaten up and a bit thinner than it used to be, but still functional and in one piece. We bought one for our daughter last summer and she has worn it for the past year. It is pricey for a kid's jacket, but a quality item that will likely be passed on to several more kids. We have bought another one in the next size up. I think the jackets are sized accurately. My daughter is a little bit on the small side, just turned 2, and can still just fit into the 18-month size.
"Warm and stylish jacket for your little one!"
I love this jacket! My daughter is 13 months, 28 or 29 inches tall and weighs almost 21 lbs. I read reviews on different sites to effect that Patagonia products run large so bought a 6 mos and 12 mos. The winter will begin soon here in WI but won't end for at least 7 months so would love this jacket to fit all year and maybe next fall. The 6 mos fit snugly and almost didn't zip with a thin shirt underneath but the sleeves and jacket length were fine. My daughter has a little round belly though. The 12 month fit with room to wear layers underneath. The sleeves are tight at the end so it is fine if they are a bit long. It was a little wide but I would rather her have room to grow. The zipper is nice quality and has a cover at the top to protect her chin. The jacket is so soft but not too puffy so she should be comfortable and safe in the car seat. I have similar jackets and although it doesn't look very thick, I believe the down will keep her toasty warm!
