"I don't understand why more people don't have these." 04/19/13
I have three of these (two medium and one large). They're strong, leak-free, and easy to pack (no weird edges or corners) - perfect food bowls for the backcountry. I've had mine for 5 years now and each one of them is still in great condition.
"see what you're eating!" 12/18/12
these jars rule! i use them for everything. sunblock. snacks, avocados! i use them often while backpacking and they have yet to crack. they are a bit bulky at times, but for car camping or indoor use they are perfect. and since they are clear you know what is in them. unless you use them for left overs. yup. a good fill, that's for sure.
"Big lids take up too much space" 05/07/12
I was originally excited about these. Especially the BPA free aspect. I ordered the 8oz container primarily for peanut butter. With space a concern for backpacking in mind; this container was about the same size as a 16oz peanut butter jar but half the volume. I ended up returning it.
"Great for dinner boxes." 01/24/12
I've bought a lot of these. Feel the need to clarify some previous reviews that I've made. The 4 oz jar are great for taking in your lunch box (for me yogurt), and the 1 oz jaw is great for taking salad dressing or dip in your lunch box. The 32 oz jar is ideal if you are infusing your own vodka (empty a bottle of vodka and some fruit in a jar, and sample every day till it is strong enough).
"Not just for camping!" 01/12/12
Although I DO love to camp, I initially bought these jars (a few of each size, actually) when I needed something for storing looseleaf tea. Because they are solidly stackable, airtight, and durable; they shield the contents from light damage; and the plastic neither leaves an odor nor picks one up, they were a perfect solution, and now I also use them for other kitchen storage such as baking supplies and snacks. Also, the colors are great, but you new that already!
"Solid looking jar." 10/20/11
I generally take a jar of peanut butter with me when I go backpacking . . . what's better than some pancakes in the morning smothered in peanut butter and honey!?! Not much when you're on the trail . . . well perhaps some fresh picked wild blueberry pancakes if you're headed to Shining Rock . . . because wild blueberry pancakes grow there . . . Anyways, I was tired of schlepping around a big jar of peanut butter for shorter weekend trips. I picked up the 4oz jar and it looks like it's gonna do a great job of holding all the peanut butter my pancakes can handle.
"its a cool jar" 02/14/11
these are a great light weight alternative to glass jars to keep your "stuff" from getting squished. they are made of super strong plastic and seal up tight to keep your stuff from stinking up your backpack. i like the green ones myself -pinto
"Great storage containers." 02/10/11
These are fantastic plastic storage containers. The Nalgene plastic is durable, stain resistant and can handle boiling water or freezing cold. They're nice and light and have a a nice tight seal. Ive got like two in every size just about : )
