I've used a few different trekking poles and I'm very happy I bought these. They're my favorites by far. They are much cheaper than the alternatives and equally as good. They could be a little smaller but they still fit nicely on my osprey pack.
The Moutainsmith trekking poles are excellent, especially for the price. They're sturdy, comfortable, and reliable, and will be fine for all but the most technical situations. They're only a few ounces heavier than many of the higher priced models, but just as good for most adventures. Thumbs up!
These trekking poles are a great deal for the price. They are very sturdy and can take quite a beating. The extended grip is a great feature for when you encounter a brief section of terrain that is steeper than the rest of the trail. You just choke up on the pole and you have a nice reliable grip to get through the steeps. The only downside is that they are a bit heavier compared to other poles on the market. They are also a bit long when reduced to their shortest position. These two issues are not a problem unless you plan to strap them to your pack for technical climbing sections. If you don't climb glacier or technical sections then this is the pole for you. Can't beat the price!
