The Mountain Hardwear Women’s Hooded Phantom Jacket is allegedly their warmest lightweight down jacket. I totally believe them. The goose down interior provides a whole lot of warmth without a lot of weight. Don’t believe it? The Hooded Phantom Jacket can be compressed to stow in its own pocket. Or, you could just stuff your hands in them instead…totally your call. The Hooded Phantom Jacket also features not just one, but two interior water bottle pockets to quench your thirst.
DECENT FEATURES of the Mountain Hardwear Women's Hooded Phantom Jacket
Two front hand warmer pockets
Low profile, insulated hood
Dual hem drawcords seal in warmth
Jacket stows in pocket
Two interior water bottle pockets
Full elastic cuffs slide easily over layers to seal in warmth
Interior zip pocket for keys, ID, other small items
I've had the jacket for a month and LOVE its warmth/weight ratio. It packs down small into a backpack. The hood is makes the jacket extra cozy, though it doesn't fit well over a ski helmet. It fits but it is too tight to turn your head from side to side. The fit is feminine while still burly. My primary complaint is that the zipper is made of plastic and the bottom part of it broke within 2 weeks of owning it. I am exchanging it for the same jacket and hoping that the zipper holds up, though I am disappointed that Mountain Hardware used such a weak component.
