WHAT is up with the fit of this jacket, Mountain Hardwear? Another reviewer complained of tight shoulders. I'm 5'2'' and 115 pounds and ordered a small. It fit well everywhere except the arms. The jacket literally could've fit two of my arms in it. That was a huge disappointment, because otherwise this was a really nice coat. It hits just above the knees, the long back makes sure that your butt is covered even when you sit down, and the fleece lining is amazing. Unlike some other jackets, this one found the right balance between being warm but not making you look like a marshmallow. But that fit. Sigh.
"Party in the front and business in back didn't work for me."
The front length was too, short. I wasn't looking for a mullet in my coat choice. I knew the parka's front was shorter than the front, but until I tried it on I couldn't tell if I would like it or not. It was just too, much party in the front for me. The sleeves were another issue. The shoulders were overly tight and then the cuffs were not tight at all (cold air would have totally blown up my arm). I am not a swimmer nor a body builder so I know my body build isn't the issue. I love Mountain Hardwear, but this time it just didn't work for me.
My wife loves the length and warmth of this lightweight down jacket. Works equally great when we are out snowshoeing or just going to and from work and around town. Good value for the price, high quality and should last a long time.
