I puchased this jacket to wear as an insulation under my shell for the most bitterly cold days and also as a daily-driver. The jacket is cut to fit well. The stretch panels allow for generous freedom of movement in activities without creating gapping or exposure at the wrists and waist. It fits true-to-size. The jacket is very light-weight yet it provides a decent amount of warmth. The jacket does not do a good job of breathing however it is better than the similar jackets without the stretch panels. This is not much of an issue for me because of how I use it, but someone looking for a primary jacket for outerwear activities may want to look for something with more breathability.
the review that says this jacket serves no purpose is dead on. to thin and retains no warmth. looks good, but that's it. i love mountain hardwear, but pass on this and go for the compressor instead. much better and in the same price range
"A mid-weight jacket that doesn't have a real purpose"

I bought this jacket because it looks cool. I was a little disappointed with the weight / warmth when I got it, as It is only slightly warmer than a thin fleece but not as warm as a winter jacket. I wore it to run errands when it was 25 degrees and felt pretty chilly. Overall, the athletic cut and design is nice, but I can only give it a 3 star rating because of its lack of functionality.
