"Superb choice for travel/cold-weather contingencies; lightweight/packable/warm"
For business travel; need stashable garments that warm-in-pinch. GW is value-triangulation: compressibility/wt; warmth; price (found on sale at M'jaw).Size: My sweatshirt size is XL. Vest fit right, w/1-inch xtra pinch-room for layering. Cut: “full” w/slight taper.Packability: Folds into 3”x3”x2” pouch; lite like bubblewrap (w/o squeeze-pops).Warmth: GW traps body-heat/shields from cold: preserves BTU-loss rather than makes toasty, but heats-up w/phys activity. During Oct ‘13 travels; encountered 55-75°F temps that plunged to 38°F; donned vest under (unlined) raincoat: didn’t freeze.Appearance: Outer shell probably durable, but avoid snagging it. Selected black color; but fashion for 2013 is shiny finish, so glam-look is “bold” (like hefty trash-sack). Still w/“break-in”, shimmer faded slightly. (Gloss is likely "sleek" in smaller sizes.)Bottomline: Vest filled gap in my travel provisions: 5-star functional-choice despite sheen; recommended to colleagues.
