What a great product, I first saw this at our local outfitter store, but they wanted double the price that Moosejaw wanted and they are not as cool. I use the jacket for casual wear and have used it for skiing. I was surprised on how warm it kept me with a couple of layers underneath. The skiing was with gusts up to 35 mph, and the this jacket would not allow the wind in. Also, when it got really windy I put up the hood over my winter hat and stayed warm to enjoy the day of skiing. Highly recommend, cannot go wrong!
Bought this jacket this year and the Dry Q breathable technology is great. Wore it during a 80 degree F (hot) rainstorm watching my son's lacrosse game and it was cool, breathable and completely dry. Best breathable rainwear for hot tropical or semi-tropical conditions I have encountered. Then I wore it skiing in Vail last week where it was freezing in the morning but warmed up to around 50 during the day and it was perfect - it IS NOT windproof so I hand a light windproof running shirt underneath. For cold, windy weather I put a windproof softshell jacket or vest - or both - underneath and it is perfect. Highly recommend this jacket.
I'm 5'6" 150lbs and the Medium size fitted me best! At first I was skeptical about the price but they had a promo at the time that I couldn't resist. The DryQ capabilities are amazing! I used my jacket for snowboarding, and even for casual rainwear! I was sweating from the aerobic activities of the day but the jacket let the right amount of air flow in to keep me dry. The shell laminate is amazing. It doesn't make that crinkly paper sound when you move around like most hard shells do. I have to say, it was a much better experience than with my previous Arcteryx Beta AR jacket with Goretex Pro shell. I would highly recommend this jacket. Mountain Hardwear makes quality products.
"Exactly what you would expect for $425!"

This jacket lives up to the Mountain Hardwear name in quality and durability. I have never had any problem with this jacket taking on water or making me wet in any way. It is quite light weight for a jacket that keeps you somewhat warm as well as dry.So far the only wear that I can see on the jacket is some slight fraying in spots where I have scraped against rocks while climbing. As far as the fitting goes, I am 6'3" and the jacket sits about 2" below my waistline. I am 175 lbs with an athletic build and it is somewhat formfitting. Not necessarily squeezing anywhere just a slim fit.I highly recommend this jacket to anyone, This jacket will outlive you!
