The Moosejaw Women's Jacquelyn Block Long Down Jacket is a complete update of our long down from last year, featuring a 650 goose down power fill and diamond baffling that allows it to keep a shape that is still way sexy. This down coat is super lightweight without sacrificing any warmth, and has an above-the-knee design and has a durable Water Repellant (DWR) treated shell to help keep out the crappiest of weather and elements. We didn't want to skimp on coziness or style, so the Jacquelyn Block also has soft ribbed cuffs with thumbholes, and a headphone port and routing channel so you can listen to your favorite tracks of whale songs pretty much anywhere. Moosejaw Life Tip #19: 84% of the time someone says "Have I ever told you about the time...." they're setting you up for an awful story. The less you expect when you hear this, the better. I shopped around for a long time for a jacket like this. I am a petite person, short and skinny, and most jackets I tried on fit awkwardly. It fits great and even though it's very light, it is so warm! I live in a place many would consider very miserable during the winter and this thing got me through.
I saw this jacket in the store and had to buy it. I like the length (I'm 5'6 and bought a medium) and it hits about midthigh for me. It's also very warm for the windy days on campus. The only problem is that it does lose the feathers quickly which is such a turn off. You can't wear anything black underneath it, otherwise you'll have these feathers all over you and people will wonder if you own a lint (feather) roller. It is a warm jacket, but again, the feathers are the only problem.
I was excited for this jacket and loved some parts about it- like the thumbholes. However, the fit didn't really work for me. I am 5'2" and the jacket looked awkwardly long.
"Very warm coat, hood is a little weird but I still wear it."

I bought this coat so I would have something warm and somewhat stylish to wear in the evenings. I love the length of this coat and it is nice and warm. It sheds light rain well too. The sleeves have these amazing thumb hole things made out of sweaters. They are very warm and soft on your hands, but they are so thick that if you wear gloves they get in the way and are pretty bulky when folded down. I also found the hood to be enormous and so floppy that I couldn't see when I had it up. I took it into a tailor to add a snap higher up on the neck to help the hood keep it's shape. Despite these things, I would recommend this coat. It is a great price for what you get!
I got this but last years model as a mystery gift. As I am always cold and live in PA, it has come in handy just taking the kids to school in the mornings. Its very warm and nice looking. I didnt know if I would like it because of the length but it keeps my behind and legs warm!!
I'm 5'2" 125 lbs, 32-28-34 and I ordered a medium. It was slightly too big for me but if I was wearing a bulky sweater, it probably would've been a perfect fit. But here's the thing, it's suppose to be super warm so you wouldn't need a bulky sweater. And the hood was also too big; even folded back it came down to almost my nose.Aside from the sizing, I wanted the zipper to come all the way up to cover my neck, but it doesn't. My collar was exposed. I also wasn't crazy about the color. Lunar Rock really means lunar rock - a shimmery light silver. I'm sure others will like it but it's just not for me.
I WANTED to love this jacket, I really did, esp. b/c the thumbholes are genius.4 things: 1)Crazy feather loss. If you get white it will be less obvious. The fabric is not enough threads-per-inch to prevent feather loss. Which leads me to…2) The fabric. It is like a micro-fiber type fabric. Soft, yes. Water-resistant, no. Feather-resistant, big no.3)The cut. This flares out big time at the hips. I get that you need movement, but I've got hips & this jacket is still too big. Seems more like a down trenchcoat.4)The hood. I love that it's nice and big; however, it doesn't have any sort of draw-cord, so you can't cinch it up and prevent it flying back with the slightest breeze.
I just bought this coat and from day one it has been losing feathers like crazy. I'd say it loses anywhere from 10-15% per wear, and its my everyday coat for winter. The feathers are covering the seat of my car, and they cover any shirt I wear. At this rate I assume there won't be any feathers left in it within the next week! DO NOT BUY THIS JACKET! I will be returning it!
It is nice when you wear it! I saw many beautiful women wears this type of jacket! And also it is the Moosejaw! How nice it is!Maybe it is good present for your girl frined!
I really really really like this coat, and i really want to keep it, however... the feathers are so annoying! i have never had a down coat before so i had no idea how many feathers would be poking out. I have yet to wear this coat out because i have no idea if i will be keeping it. If i would have bought the white one then i wouldn't notice the feathers but since i have it in black (because white gets dirty too fast) you can most definitely notice the feathers. I have no idea what i am going to do, the style of this coat is soooo cute, but those darn feathers! HELP!
Well Moosejaw, you've done it again. You've blown my socks off. You've flipped my wig. I went into the store because I saw this online and all the great reviews but I wanted to try it on, and I was thoroughly impressed. I tried the NorthFace one on too, and this one was better, and much cheaper also! For $200 this is a great value. Super warm, SUPER comfy, and overall it's as sexy as a parka can get. I live in the great state of Michigan and have to walk to classes in the freezing cold erryday, and this totes serves the purpose. I'm 5'7" and 120lbs with long arms, and this fits poifectly.
I ordered this coat and the North Face down parka to compare. When I took them out of the box, I knew right away that the Moosejaw coat was the winner. This coat feels of higher quality than the North Face coat and is much more flattering on. The cost is pretty much a huge bargain too.The biggest pros for me: - The sleeve cuffs look clean cut and keep the wind out.-Love the hood.-Flattering diamond pattern on the down.-Good length, hits my mid thigh. Details: 5'6", 135 lbs. Medium fits, but a little roomy in the shoulder/upper arm area.
