"Solid lightweight down jacket and a great value" 02/20/13
I got this jacket to tackle the Missouri winter when my heaviest jacket was a North Face Denali. This jacket kept me warm (with layers underneath) down to about 0 degrees. Its no Arctic Parka but for the weight and price its an incredible value. Being reversible makes it versatile and the front Napoleon pocket is super convenient for keys and other small items. Like many down jackets, be careful because the shell is fairly delicate and will tear. I tore the jacket elbow after a week. I Because of that, its the only thing holding me back from 5 stars. If they still have this jacket in your size, go ahead and get it, you wont regret it.
"Light and toasty" 01/03/13
Jacket is seriously warm, you can wear a t-shirt and this skiing and be OK (pants, hat and gloves and you're golden). Jacket is light to the point that I expect it to float. Chest pocket is handy for lighter items, heavier makes it sag like a rock in a sock. Wife keeps stealing my jacket, so I'm filling this out to earn points to get another one. Reversible is nice, though I don't pay attention and keep losing my car keys in it.
"Jacket is better than a juju hat" 09/11/12
I bought this jacket last year when I was freezing my toosh off in the northern mountains of Afghanistan and it saved my life from those bitter cold morning, days, and nights. I thought I was going to have to wear about 25 layers of clothing until I got this jacket. All I wore under it was a t-shirt and it kept me warm in -20 degree mountain weather.
"This jacket is awesome." 08/21/12
I had been looking at this for ages but my size was never available, so I got it as soon as it was. The material feels really durable, the jacket has decent loft, and it feels like it will be able to keep me warm easily into the mid-low 30's or below (estimate, haven't gotten to field-test it in low temps yet). It also looks really nice, too.
"Perfect combination of warmth without being too bulky!" 03/07/12
Love this jacket. Its great as a mid-layer or outer layer if the weather is nice. It's great to not have to go two sizes up on a shell just to fit a down jacket under it. Warmth is not sacrificed either! The best part, if you are a slob like me, you just flip in inside out and you are good to go!
"Very warm but a few gripes" 03/05/12
Very warm! I've worn it around town and I've kept toasty. The fit is athletic with a good taper to the waist and the zippers don't get caught in the fabric (a common problem). There's lots of pockets that are still usable when the jacket is either way. But it ain't perfect. First, all those pockets aren't lined. On the quilted side the zipper is "backwards" (shuttle on the left). That takes some getting used to. I've also had some down leak and the under arm on the smooth side tore in about a month. I originally bought this to go under a shell, but it's a little too bulky. If you want to layer it you may need to go down a size.
"Excellent Product" 03/05/12
I just unwrapped this jacket and wore it to work this morning and it is even better than I imagined! First of all the fit is excellent. I am hella skinny (5'11" 130Lbs) and the small fits me perfectly; It's not so baggy that I'm swimming in it and it's not so tight that I couldn't layer underneath if I wanted to. Secondly, it was 36 degrees (F) outside and I was super warm all the way to work. Also, this jacket is (in my opinion) very stylish and totally appropriate for my corporate business "workin' for the man" office job. I have a climbing trip coming up so I'll put it through it's paces then, but I have no doubt that it'll work really well! Buy this jacket!
"Style and Function" 02/07/12
I have to say that when I first got it it looked more like a dress jacket than something to beat up hiking and climbing. I like it because it is light weight and not puffy like some other down jackets I have. This one is functional as well as warm. I am 5'9" 200 lbs and the large fits just right.
"This jacket is boss." 02/01/12
I absolutely love this jacket. It can be worn in all conditions from a cold rain to just a semi breezy day. It doesn't overheat you if outside it's not freezing cold. It can be worn no matter what! And should be worn no matter what! Because it's comfy and moosejaw! Spread the word!
"Toasty" 01/27/12
I got this jacket, and was at first worried about the sizing, the sizing on the jacket is very accurate to the moosejaw sizing guide. It is warm, comfortable, and reversible. Even stood up to some light rain on the way to class.
"Perfect for NYC Winter" 01/26/12
Perfect combination of warmth and water resistance in a lightweight stylish jacket. I wear this jacket all over, except when i'm suited and tied. Comfortable down to mid teens with some layers underneath. Runs a touch small, so had to reorder in XL. Nice product Moosejaw!!!
"This thing is sweet action." 01/24/12
This coat is an amazing! While i haven't gotten to use it outdoors too much, i still have loved it in the weather i've seen. Temperatures of 20s and 30s are no contest for this jacket. It does an amazing job of warmth, comfort, and packability. It has handled small amounts of rain just fine and i'm looking forward to really using it on future backpacking and hiking trips.
