This carabiner is great for a variety of things...its great for holding water bottles, hooking things onto key chains, and just making something look cool. I love to hook them onto my backpack whether I use them or not. But I usually use them to secure my water bottle. They are very useful to have around and you can never have too many!!
I received some of these kids as gifts almost 2 years ago and they work great. I use them on my pack for hiking, camping, and everyday use for affixing my nalgene to my work bag. I wasn't sure of the quality at first, but they've held up in tiptop condition. If your on the fence, I wouldn't worry, go for it.
I was given a couple of these awhile back and used one of them for a keychain and another for clipping assorted items to my climbing pack. Usually I get a "nice biner" at the crag or "what the hell is Moosejaw" from those less informed. Either way, I win! Just bought some more for stocking stuffers for the kids(and myself).
