Anyone who says this is great is lying to you. I've use chalk in gymnastics, climbing, and lifting. All 3 sports use chalk socks. This chalk sock is far inferior to others I've used but gets the job done. My issue is that 1, all the chalk inside it is virtually intact which means you need to put it into a bag to break it up to avoid dusting your lungs. 2, you really need to slam it into your hands to get it to dispense anything which leads to tons of dust.I used it on its own for a while when I lost my chalk bag for climbing. It would randomly dust the air below me even though it was resting against my side after being looped through my harness. If you can get it for cheap then why not, but you are better off just getting super chalk and throwing it in a bag.
"Excellent Size and Dispensing Ability with Almost No Dust or Spilling"
This chalk sock is amazing! I've been using it for almost 2 months and it hasn't spilled once! It also fits great in my Metollius Chalk Bag, it hasn't fallen out once! Great design as it finely coats the hand with very little dust released into the air. It just got about half full and now you can see dust coming out as you reach into it.Some tips-Keep it filled (helps keep dust down, leaving more chalk for your hands)Get a fleece or felt lined chalk bag- keeps it in place better and easier on the hand
I honestly prefer loose chalk, but these little bags prevent loose chalk from flying everywhere. I've found them especially useful at the rock gym when I'm being lazy and loungin on some giant crash pads... no chalk all over your butt or the crash pads!!
"I give the Metolius Super Chalk Sock Big Ups"
I have purchased the Metolius Super Chalk Sock before from another vendor. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. I give it bigs ups instead of love it because I prefer the chalk block. The chalk block has me rubbing chalk on once while with the chalk sock I have to dab several times. Why this over a chalk block, because the chalk sock fits better in my bag.
