I've heard lots of stories about teachers throwing chalk at kids in class, but I've never actually seen it happen. No one I know has ever seen it or been the target of a teacher-chalk-missile either, so I'm beginning to believe it never happens. If you've ever had a teach throw chalk at you, please write a book detailing the harrowing ordeal so I can learn how these things really go down.

I'm new to climbing so I don't really know much about the different types of chalk. This one here seems to do the job well. It breaks up nicely. It is cheap too!

"chalk of champions" 02/16/12

Sucks all the moisture out of your hand so you can stick to any nasty sloper, pinch, or crimp. Cheap and functional, this chalk is a great buy. Easy to break up to use in a chalk bag or sock. Don't plan to use the flimsy paper packaging it comes in as any sort of storage though. Chalk is chalk and this chalk is cheap- awesome.

"Great simple refill for a chalk bag." 12/27/11

Being in a solid block instead of a can of loose powder makes this easier to transport when going climbing anywhere outside of a gym. Breaks up easily to give you the powder you love and need. Simple and gets the job done.

"Great for bouldering" 12/19/11

I originally bought a few of these for bouldering. I kept the block as a whole and rubbed my finger tips and palms instead of dipping my hand into my bag constantly. Then a chunk of it broke off and i discovered that it's also amazing for my bag. I love this chalk so much i'm about to buy 15 of them with the $20 MooseJaw just gave me for being awesome.

"Cheap reliable chalk in a beautiful...block shape. Did I mention it's cheap?" 10/26/11

It's chalk, so you're not going to save the bank by buying more on the $ end than the $$$$, but you could save those pennies up for...a new protection rack if you use enough chalk. Anyway, it's a block of chalk, you can break it up as you want to whatever consistency you like it. What's more fun than blowing off steam crushing little white powder? Well...lots of things, and if you have lots of those things available to you you should probably just get pre-ground chalk to save some time, but otherwise no complaints. Fill a sock, dump it in a bag, eat it for breakfast, rub some on your face for those chin-hooks you're practicing, it will work for all of that.

"Great product" 05/06/11

Get it. Definitely !! if you climb or boulder, you will go through chalk pretty quick and this budget chalk does its job absolutely amazingly. PS: MJ should do a better job packing this with other products since the stock packaging is pretty flimsy and can open, and will definitely break all over the other stuff in the package. How about putting this in a taped polythene bag before shipping? less than a cent and wont make other stuff messy.

"Freakin rodonculous CHALK!" 11/19/10

I love METOLIUS chalk. I have been using it since I began climbing and have just always preferred it to other chalk because of price and it works very good along with crushing to the grade I prefer. Will come in 2 oz blocks and I recommend buying as many as you can to save on shipping.So solid product highly recommend!
