"Saville Row of vests; suitable for James Bond: Good quality, tailoring, added-warmth"
Marmot Zeus (MZ) was 2nd vest bought from M’jaw after Ghost Whisper (also reviewed). While GW (5 oz, 850 down; squishable) is stashed w/my business-travel gear, MZ more stylish for daily wear. Fabric-finish is “regal, upscale” (not shiny/lollipop-colored); chose Dark Azure blue. Vest not puffy; slightly tapered; tailored. (Note: I’m mid-XL size; MZ fit w/xtra half-inch chest-pinch room; GW had 1-inch). W/more insulation (10 oz, 800 down) ‘n GW, MZ warms faster. Discovery from both: vest warmth is not total warmth (like from jacket or heavy sweatshirt); its supplemental warmth. So in MZ: as layer under down-coat, I was warm in 20-degree weather. Yet when (same day) testing MZ w/o coat; I froze in 4 min. Upside: MZ could be unzipped to avoid indoor-overheating (unlike sweatshirt which needed removal). MZ quality: solid--good zipper/stitching; designed w/large outer + inner pockets. (MZ compressibility not tested.) Bottomline: solid value; upscale-look; extra warmth.
