The Marmot Men's Leadville Jacket is a Gore WINDSTOPPER® softshell for mild weather days of climbing, hiking, and skiing. The Leadville can get you through multiple athletic activities comfortably by allowing your upper half to breathe and wicking sweat away. The lightweight fabric won’t weigh you down and an athletic fit will stay out of the way of your gear. The hand pockets and single chest pocket are all zippered so you won’t lose your glove liners along the way. The jacket blocks a spring wind like a champ and deflects a light rain on those questionable days.
"Great do-it all softshell for more aerobic activities, a killer value"
I love this jacket! I use it for more aerobic activities, such as xc skiing, snowshoeing, cold weather running, spring skiing, and it works great for these activities. For truly crap weather, I use my OR Mithril, but for everything short of howling winds/rain/snow, the Leadville comes with me. It blocks plenty of wind, layers well, is stretchy, and dumps heat like nobody's business. It is also very durable, I have had mine for over 4 years now, and looks like it will keep on kickin' butt for years to come. With performance and durability this good, I would expect it to cost at least $50 more. My only gripe is that the zipper pulls are a little small to operate with gloves on, which Marmot may have fixed since I bought mine in spring of 2010. I'm 6'2, 175 pounds and the large fits great, just enough room for a baselayer and a superlight midlayer, and slips easily under a shell.
