Another great Marmot product. Perfect for early spring or late fall hikes but can also be worn around town. Decent as a midlayer when it's cold outside but it's not my first choice for that. It's soft, warm and really functional. Had it about 8 months and there is some slight wear and piling, but nothing unexpected. I'd recommend it.SIZE: I'm 6ft about 180 pounds and the medium fits perfect.
It's just a really comfortable fleece, and it's Marmot so you know it's quality. I got it on a price match so I got a pretty good deal on it. That said, it's worth buying at full price. Good to wear on early spring or late fall hikes, but also good to wear as a normal jacket around the city. Sizing note: I'm 6ft and 180lbs and the medium fits great. It is a big snug, but that's exactly the fit I was looking for.
The Marmot Alpinist jacket is a very attractive fleece and has a great build quality. The warmth is very good for its weight; this is really added to by the elastic bound cuffs and draw cord hem. It's also not too warm to wear indoors for an extended period, the jacket achieves a good balance. The side pockets might be one of my favorite features though. They are deeper than one would think and you belongings feel very secure in them; with other coats i'm constantly reaching to check my phone and keys.
The Alpinist Jacket by Marmot is a great go anywhere, do anything jacket. I bought the jacket last summer and haven't had any problems. It has kept me warm in all types of weather east and west, ranging from rain storms to blizzard type conditions. I love the pocket in between the the zipper and the outside layer. I have found that for the price of marmot versus the price of North Face, Marmot serves a higher line of quality. Not only is it better quality, but it looks good too.
