This biner rocks. It's auto-locking... but the mechanism is gentle and (unlike other locking biners) usable and not impossible to open when you want to. Plus, the plastic gate swings over to keep the biner oriented properly while you belay - leaving the harness end at the harness end, and the belay device end where it needs to be - no more cross-loading the biner. Additionally, the biner handles really well/ smoothly, and has nice action... I've had mine for nearly year now, and it still works very smoothly. A must-have for belayers.
