This is great for the backcountry as it doubles as both a bowl and a plate. its easy to clean, lightweight and holds hot liquids without burning you, unlike metal. It fits easily in my pack and better than a bowl due to its flatter design. overall a thumbs up.
I bought a pair of these for a BWCA trip. The pros: light weight, solid construction, easy to handle, the tall sides keeps your food off the ground. The cons: the plates don't nest into each other so they take up a bit more space in your pack. Also, a bit tough to clean up after a delicious fish fry.
"is it a bowl? or is it a plate? its both!"
I picked up a few of these last year before my summer music festival work season started. As some of you know, living on the road out of a car and a tent, space is limited. so finding useful items that can have multiple uses is a must. I stumbled upon these bad boys and I couldnt be happier with them. You can use em as a bowl for soups, ramen, or cereal. Or use them as a plate "with walls" for any other type of food, to keep all of your delicious meal safely on your plate. Not the Ground. They also nest inside of my MSR pot set. which makes them even more space saving and efficient. I highly recommend these.
