"Bomb proof cookware" 05/31/13
I like stainless steel when I'm out because I don't have to worry about messing up Teflon or the other weird coatings. This is just steel. Also I can use metal utensils (I know, that fork and spoon I carry break my back because of the extra weight)I burned some oatmeal cause I wasn't watching the pot and it was nice and black in some spots. Took a green pad to it and BOOM, brand spankin new! I was looking at the 3 pot set but decided to go with only 2 pots. I'm happy with 2 and unless you're cooking for a group or Gordon Ramsay and Bear Grylls offspring cooking 10 things on the trail, you should manage just fine.
"Not for the ultra-lighter" 04/13/13
Really approve of the set having test run the pots in my backyard. I can stow my whisperlite and its accessories that I carry with it (repair kit, pump, windguard, potholder) inside the 1.5L (small) pot. Really handy stuff sack comes with it as well. It may be heavy for some, but I'm excited to carry it on my next trek.
"Go for steel" 11/22/12
After having tried these guys for well over five proper hikes, I can tell you i am never getting non-stick pots or teflon pots or titanium pots again. These are so sturdy and durable you can use them for pretty much anyhing, digging, supporting things etc. If they get really dirty or worn, you just put some polish on and they will look brand new. I have even used the lid as a frying pan, works fine. These pots will also stand the stronger heat of eg the Primus omnifuel stove.
"Cool Beans" 12/17/11
This is a great set. Pretty durable and comes with the handy pot grabber. Withstands direct heat with no problem and cleaned up nicely. A little bulky to carry, but good for dinners for two so perhaps sharing the load would be worth it.
"Holds up to my abuse, a rock solid invstment." 07/12/11
I grew up backpacking using my parents old Sig stove and alminnum mess kit and it had similar features but less rugged. I tend to be rough on pots and love to cook over open fires and this cookset can handel it all. Doesn't offer the thrills and whistles of other kits but fits my Whispuerlite stove with ease. The multi-functional lid can be used as frying pan and made some great pancakes, however if you catch a large trout it is a little small. I think this is just one more awsome MSR product.
"Very light and functional" 11/30/10
I use this for my 3 day hikes works great. I can put a lot of little things inside the pans for storage(lighters, matches, napkins, spork, seasoning.) I usaully just throw the pan on some coals to boil water. very durable
"good for car campers and short hikers" 11/05/10
well thought out product. i like the lid. the way it is shaped allows it to fit either pot, or you can use it between the pots and heat both at the same time, saving fuel. should hold up very well due to stainless steel construction. too bad it doesn't come with it's own stuff sack.
