Reviewing footwear is tricky. It's not fair to judge a boot for being too wide or narrow, since everyone is different and it's not the boot's fault if it didn't fit you. For me, this boot was a little bit wide for my strange alien feet. But there was so much that made me want to love these boots and gain some weight in my feet so that I could wear them forever. The quality is amazing. They are the toughest backpacking boots I've owned. The break-in period wasn't that bad. Plenty of cushioning. And the gore-tex is genuinely effective at breathing in mild weather. That being said, you need to ask if these boots meet your needs. They aren't light. They almost feel like mountaineering boots, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them with crampons for a mild snow climb. They're waterproof, so they can get hot. You wouldn't want them for a day hike unless you just really like heavy boots. You will want them for carrying heavy loads over talus and scree. Oh and they look good too!
