"Great for the money" 03/20/13
I really like the goggle-like look and feel of these, sort of outdoorsy-steampunk. The only complaint I have is that the upper tip of the left blinder sticks up slightly; not a big deal, it just looks a bit funky. I think it was a flaw with this particular pair, and may not affect others.
"Good glacier goggles for the money" 11/28/12
So, I used these for a bit of ice climbing and mountaineering, and they worked well for me. The ear hooks keep them secure on my face, and they have a nice dark tint which helps a lot when you are out on the ice during the day. Also, the side panels are nice to guard from light, but seem breathable. Overall the glasses seem pretty breathable as they fog less than similar ones I have. I do not love the nosepiece, and wish it was easily moldable. They seem to fit other people just as well as they fit me.
"great sunglasses loose fit can be fixed!" 04/26/11
I recently purchased the sherpas. From other reviews I gathered that they fit a little loose on some people. I have an average sized head and the length of the hooked temples were a little long, making them too loose and floppy on my face (especially with the shrouds attached). I took them to my local spectacle shop and they were able to shorten the length so that they now fit snug. Don't be put off by the fit issues if you're willing to go have some inexpensive adjustments made. Their durability has yet to be proven but at the price, what the hey, they seem durable enough. I'm also going to have RX lenses put in them. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
"No matter what, they're going to fall apart." 10/03/10
I work at a wolf sanctuary in New Mexico and these things made working outdoors in the high sun and snow a little more tolerable. At least I could see. Unfortunately, unless you keep them in their hard case, those little side shields are going to snap right off and you'll end up with funny little things dangling off the side of your head. They were broken even before a wolf stole them and chewed on them till I couldn't see out the right lens.
"Cheap but not the greatest..." 03/15/10
I think these really have to fit your face otherwise they're a bit clunky. They sit very awkwardly on my face... Serves me right for not trying them on. But for the price can't really complain. They come with a nice hardcase.
"HIt or miss" 02/14/10
I have two pairs of these. They're a great price and will get the job done. I liked the first pair enough to buy a second, however I found the lenses to be a little scratch prone (and/or I'm a klutz). So now after a year I have glasses that are great for 90% of my field of view, but there's a little hole on my right eye side that basically let's all the sun in. Kind of blows, and I have to say I'm in the market for something a little more resilient. Or perhaps I should get hiking poles.....
"It's hard to find a much better pair of sunglasses for the price. An excellent bargain" 01/14/10
Man... they do everything. I use them when i ride bikes, climb glaciers, spear a bear with my bare hands, or even when i do cartwheels. What a great buy for the price. Keep in mind that this is not the best pair of sunglasses, but they sure could pass for a nicer pair. With the wrap-around ear-piece, they stay where you want them. The side shields block out most light. The lenses seem to be nice. No scratches after a month of use. Be careful though. While these fit my face superbly, they slide off my friends nose. Whenever these fall apart, i will be buying another pair.
"If you don't mind looking like a dork...." 12/06/09
These have a somewhat limited usage range for me as the conditions have to be very bright to use. I bought these for a peak climbing trip in Wyoming and they worked as advertised on glaciers with the side shields in place with little to no light leakage. The ear pieces can be contorted to fit just about any ear, though these fit large in general. I did develop a large scratch in the lens during the first use from a relatively minor drop, so I question the durability of the lens coating. Be warned I am not sure anyone can make these glasses look cool...keep them in the backcountry
"This is the shit!" 11/12/09
This glasses are awesome! They have tight-fit so they are very comfy. The lens have very nice oily shine. They come whit neck-strap and box. But there are one little hole on each side of the glasses that are little irritating. For the price there are no better!
"freaken awesome" 04/21/09
These sunglasses are great! really help keep the sun out when it counts. They fit my face really well..which is hard for me to find in a pair of sunglasses. As one of the cheapest pairs of the Julbo line, they still show great quality and craftsmanship. I'll have these for a long time.
"Great glasses." 04/18/09
Great glasses for the price. They fit very well and block 99% of the light that sometimes gets in around the frames on other glacier glasses. I haven't had the chance to test them out in their designed capacity but I believe they will perform well. Quality construction all around at a price that is hard to beat.
