Sock Liner - Designed to be worn as a first layer sock with your favorite outer sock
I bought these for everyone in my family for use as a liner under heavy weight hiking socks. For me, having comfortable feet is the most important aspect for extended backpacking. I always hated getting hot feet and feeling like my toes were sticking together in the thick, but cushioned, hiking socks I wear. These liners completely eliminated that problem. The toes are stretchy enough that even my husband's long toes fit with no problems. He wears less thick socks than I do but had the same complaint about sticky toes. After using these liners, he insists on having them, and they are the only kind we use now. Our kids love them too. Our feet stay dry and comfortable and blister-free. Just be careful when washing them. The sock gremlins will always steal the left ones if you just throw them in the wash, so put the pairs in a mesh bag to foil their evil plot. This also prevents excess wear and increases the longevity of the liners.
"Surprisingly comfortable for someone with gnarly ape-like toes!"

I bought these because of my recent transition to five fingers- and skeletoes-based footwear. Being an avid cyclist and hiker, I've had a lot of experience with coolmax socks (for better and worse). These stand up incredibly well to my ill-shapen toes and (at times) razor sharp nails. The original weight socks do have a longer life span than these lightweight, but I get months of use from them before I begin to see any of my toes start to peak through. Also great to have color options other than white if that sort of thing is important to you (possibly my cyclist background that makes this an important feature).
I bought a pair to wear under my vibrams, but now I want to wear them all the time. I normally don't like how socks feel, since they always seem to bunch up or sags, but these socks are completely different. They stay put, fit snugly, and are surprisingly warm AND thin. I can't say that about any other sock.
