"Favorite Long Underwear/ Alaskan Knickers" 05/27/12
I purchased these when winter hit here in Alaska. As I am new to the last frontier I wasn't sure what I would need and so I held off. In Fairbanks there's not a whole lot of attention to fashion when it's -45, but I still like to know that when I take my winter coat off indoors that I don't look homeless. I can wear these comfortably under a denim skirt and they pass for warm leggings. I do find them a touch itchy, but nothing unbearable, just something I notice every now and again. They're quite comfortable, and I wanted a nice quality natural fiber legging-like pair so these fit the bill!
"Warmest things I've had on my legs since hot laundry" 04/02/12
How have I lived in New England for 25 years without owning a pair of these? These leggings are super warm, continue to be comfortable, and can go for several days without washing. They never feel sweaty, they don't slouch -- I'm in love. I hear it's not a good idea to put these marino wool leggings in the dryer, so I cold water machine wash them and then hang them up to dry (and they're dry in 12 hours). They stay soft and great. Best investment in staying warm ever.
"Better then UnderArmor" 03/27/12
I was concerned these were going to be itchy. I mean they are wool right? No, they are amazing. I brought them on a two week trip to Switzerland, where it is cold all the time. I could not get enough of these leggings. I wore them around town under jeans, I wore them with skirts, I wore them skiing under ski pants. I wore them to bed. I washed them in the sink a few times and they dry quickly as well. They are amazingly comfortable and warm. I do wish the waste band had a string to hold them up a little better, but beyond that they were amazing.
"Warm, awesome fit, worth every penny!" 11/29/11
Cotton thermals are bulky & stretch out after every wash. Underarmour feels cold against my skin, defeating the purpose.I like natural fibers and read raves about merino, so I tried these. I LOVE them! They're warm but not hot. They never smell, even worn every other day (alternating 2 pairs) and washed only every couple weeks. Easy care: reg. wash, hang to dry. Never stretch out of shape even after many wearings. Legs long enough, waist shorter than most other thermals I've worn.I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, athletic build w/short waist & long legs. Pants that fit my hips/rear are often too big in the waist, but a size small fits like a glove. Worth every penny!

"Great Full-Leg Baselayer" 09/11/11
Don't let the wool material part fool you. These leggings are so comfortable. In winter, during those chilly nights, I slip these on with my socks pulled up over the bottom and the warmth is great! When I'm camping in the cold, these leggings always come with me. I'll usually layer it under something else for added warmth. They are form fitting and the waist wasn't a problem for me. I do have a smaller waist however.
"toasty toast, no stink" 06/27/11
I had the 320 leggings (before they got stolen), and found that the waist band was just too skinny and dug into me. It seems to be a bit bigger on these, plus I got a bigger size (small), and they fit a dream. The waist is high, up to the belly button, and they're quite long for me bit Im pretty short -5'5. Nice and soft, will be using them to sleep in when camping in the next few weeks.
"warm legging for winter" 12/25/10
Bought this for my wife. She just loves it. It is very warm for the thickness it has. She is 5ft, 100lb, XS fits her well.Merino is a great material. it is light, odourless and not itchy at all. Will buy 150 and 260 when there is a good deal.
"Essential under-item!" 12/13/10
These wool tights are form-fitting and thin enough to wear under even my tight "going out" jeans. They're incredibly warm for how light weight they are and do not itch. I wore them every day in 5 degree (F) and was ever so grateful I bought them. I wouldn't recommend them for weather much colder than that. They are line dry, but can go in the washer and since they're stink-resistant and hold their shape you can go days before you feel like you need to wash them. The gray color is pretty sheer (my tattoo shows through), so I would recommend black if you're wanting to treat them like leggings.
"Super comfy" 12/08/10
I love my Icebreaker pants. I thought they would be scratchy, but they are not, they are soft and comfortable, and they keep me plenty warm. I wear them underneath my dress pants in the winter, so I can walk the mile home from work, and this August they kept me nice and toasty warm in my sleeping bag during the chilly northern summer nights. I agree with the other reviewers - the pants themselves feel true to size, but the elastic waistband runs small.
"Sweet! But not if you are allergic to wool :(" 10/02/10
I love Moosejaw & know they have quality products. I really really wanted this warm base layer, thought they were stylin' but nervous about the wool part. The packaging stated that the wool was not the picky kind (possibly true), however, I guess an allergy is still an allergy. I tried on the bottoms & matching top and in seconds I was itchy. I tried really hard to focus on other things, like chocolate, but it didn't work. I promise. I would buy this toasty base layer if I could. The leggings are a good length and fit to your body, so you don't look like a big moo-moo in your layers.
