The Futura Ice Axe by Grivel is a very light ice axe for classical alpinism that still has all the characteristics of a Grivel ice axe: hot forged head and blade provide maximum strength and minimal weight. Polyamide ergonomic grip is still comfortable after hours and hours of climbing. The excellent thermal insulation means there's no need to wrap layers of foam rubber round the head as protection against the freezing metal – extremely useful during the winter months or on high altitude expeditions. B rated shaft, long dragonne.
