I am an owner of the Z55 and the Z65, with the recent purchase of some Jetboil products I decided I needed a bigger backpack. I searched and searched until finally Moosejaw had exactly what I needed ... and it was on sale! I have used the Gregory Z-line for the last two years, I have tried other packs but nothing has come close to the durability and comfort of the Gregory Packs! Those guys know what they are doing. I can't wait to go backpacking : ) If you are looking for something to accentuate your beauty and make you look wicked cool in the mountains, I highly recommend Gregory Packs.
"It's great. The ventilation is nothing short of incredible, pack only touches at hip and shoulders."
This is my second internal frame pack, my first was about twenty years ago and hated it. During the time between then and now I have been using a Dana Designs Terra Frame external. I was always extremely pleased with that pack, though a little noisy. Was critical of internal frame packs until I bought this one this past summer. Though the z75 doesn't have the capacity of the Dana but I knew that going into this. I can pack enough for five to seven days of backpacking and it has comfortably carried up to 48 pounds. Bottom line, I love this pack. Not as easy access wise compared to the Dana, but the difference in carry and comfort is unequaled.
Lately gold prices are approaching the stratosphere. Each ounce a precious delight. Backpacking deep into wilderness for days at a time requires attention each ounce that may devalue gold. The care Gregory put into this pack makes every stingy ounce count. All seams, pockets, and straps are expertly crafted. Combine this with a light touch on the back allowing cool breezes to brush the back, relieving sweltering heat of hot days, makes this pack worth much more than Moosejaw charges. I can hardly wait to get back on the trail with this baby!
