"Better for an A-frame" 01/31/13
This tarp is pretty heavy for backpacking, the design and durability are very nice, the problem is that the specs for this item from moosejaw and ENO are incorrect. This tarp is not actually a square. When pitched in a diamond configuration the middle corners are not even. Still, the tarp was long enough to be pitched in an A-frame over my hammock, please note it could still be used in a diamond pitch. The underside is covered in a polyurethane coating and is very crinkly.
"Buy this tarp!" 01/09/13
Its pretty light for the amount of coverage you get, it packs small, the tie out lines are already attached and are heavy duty enough. The only downside is the price, but if you can afford it you will not be let down!
"Light and easy to setup!" 01/08/13
LOVE this product. It is very easy to setup and take down. This is a must-have if you want to backpack ultralight without a tent, or for your ENO hammmock. It will keep you dry in a drizzle or light rain as well as block out the sun! A MUST have for any ENO hammock owner!
"FastFly works as advertised!" 12/27/12
Just got back from a three week vacation in Kauai where the fastfly was used with a two-man hammock. Practice makes perfect with the fastfly. Get 2 metal stakes right away for the 2 points to go into the ground. This makes living in paradise much easier, affordable and is way better than using a boring tent. Packs up very well and is very light. No complaints, thanks for the madnesss. <3Aloha
"Convenient" 07/20/12
Giving it 3 stars due to the price...it's more expensive than the hammock itself! At any rate, it seems to perform well and is made specifically for ENO hammocks. Another downside is the coverage area...may not be large enough to protect your pack and other belongings from the rain, but you can remedy this in most cases by hanging your hammock higher and putting your belongings beneath you.
"Great...But worth the money? no" 07/14/11
So this tarp is REALLY easy to set up...but with a little skill (and by "skill" i really just mean practice) any tarp is easy to set up. My friend bought the fastfly and although he gets his shelter up a couple minutes quicker, I decided to stay on the cheaper side and use my footprint as a tarp. Really, all you need is something about 8 feet on the diagonal. Marmot 3p Aeros or Big Agnes Lynx Pass 3 work great, cost less and are lighter.
"Just wasn't a happy camper" 02/04/11
I bought this to go with my double nest. It just didn't give enough cover to my gear/pack. It would have been sufficient if I was just using it in the back yard. I returned it and went with a Kelty Noah's tarp (the 12x12). Love my 12x12 tarp. Super light and multi-purpose!I use it for an ultralight tent for weekend excursions, large shaded shelter in the back yard, as my primary cover when hammock camping, and have also used it as my rain cover for my tent. I'm a Kelty fan for life!
"Worth it if it rains" 01/18/11
It never fails that when i camp, it rains. Hammock camping has been no exception. i use this with my ENO double nest and the bug net and this fly keeps me dry. The only downfall to this fly is that the cord it comes with to guy it out is rather short if you are using trees to tie it off to rather than staking it to the ground (maybe i just need to camp in more dense forests).. all in all awesome product
"An eno tarp? Who could say no?" 12/26/10
Shamelessly bought this because it was eno and i wanted my whole setup to match. It also helped that all the others I looked at were either too big or too heavy (example: Kelty's Noah Tarp). It's rained only a handful of times but in all instances i was kept dry... mostly. Yes a good gust or two got me wet in a serious downpour. So if you're worried then i wouldn't recommend a down bag. Compacts small enough to make my Kelty friends jealous and the cinching system is ingenious. Also, unlike the picture i see here, my tarp is not connected to the bag, they are separate. The bag also looks more like a hot dog and less like a hamburger.
