I am 5'4" woman with a short torso, and this is the absolute best pack I have ever used. There are a thousand ways to make it fit just right. The belt fits on my hips snugly without riding up, and the shoulder straps are cut narrowly enough that I don't get rubbed raw in my armpits. I haven't used it during the warmer months yet, so I can't comment on the airflow through the back; however, all of my female packing friends use this pack year round and love it. Unlike some of the other Deuter packs, this pack does not have a built-in rain cover, so you will have to buy one. I use a Sea to Summit, size large, for the cover, and it works just fine.

Cant go wrong buying a deuter! This pack quickly adjusts to fit just about all body types. Have used it on overnights for up to 3 days and it makes me really happy to use. I can fit twice what i can think to bring and have many options for accessing my gear. I know other people with this bag and they rave about its performance as well.
"Lightest pack you can cram a bear canister into."

Here's why I have this pack.1) It's so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it.2) The cooling system actually works.3) I can fit a large bear canister into it4) It can accommodate anything from 3 days of gear to 8 days of gear without resupply. At one time I wished this pack had a detachable daypack, but then I realized that it was so comfortable it was the daypack. Just cinch the straps down and take some gear out and it's ready to go.
