I suspect I might have had a warmer experience in a similarly rated TNF parka I was considering for $300 less that zips all the way to the bottom where the jacket hits at the knees, but I like how I look in the CG Kensington way better. That said, I've worn this jacket downtown Chicago in windy, just below freezing conditions. The wind comes right between that gap below where the zipper ends & up inside the coat. The result: thighs & a butt that seem to always be cold because they are unable to adjust to either a.) the cold air outside or b.) the warmth provided by the surrounding coat that is still letting cold air in. My torso & arms: warmish (depending on how much I let myself think about how much I've spent on the coat & yet how cold my thighs are). My calves: fine. My thighs, knees & sometimes butt: cold. Above all, me: cute in a warm(isn) winter coat. It's clear where my priorities lie.On a side note, put the hood up and the warmth of this jacket climbs several notches.
It is super warm but not bulky. It makes you very slim. The fur on the hood is also very warm. I am 5'2'' and 108 lb. I got a small. It is comfortable with some more rooms. I highly recommend this product for anyone in cold weather. I live in NYC and walk about a mile every day to work. It is the best.
Living in Chicago, EVERYONE owns a North Face or Patagonia. I prefer Patagonia for my fall and spring jackets but Chicago winters are the worst. Ive owned several North face parkas and they do an "okay job" at keeping me nice and toasty. Bottom line- this is a TOP notch coat, save a few pay check and actually buy a coat that will keep your warm and fashionable. Additional bonus is not everyone owns one, so you wont look like one of the sheep in a heard.
Living in Chicago, the moment the temp drops below 50 degrees, The North Face come out of the wood work. LITERALLY EVERY WHERE. Two reasons I love Canada Goose: 1. not a lot of people own one 2. for the girl who is always cold, I am now ALWAYS warm! This coat is worth every cent. Its def a jacket you will own for years (assuming you dont out grow your jacket)My suggestion, stop buying crappy North Face, you dont need to own 4 different ones to stay warm. Save a few check and go buy Canada Goose. There is nothing better.
I walk a half mile to work every day. I knew once winter hit, my cream colored, wool military jacket I've had for 7 years was not going to cut it. This coat keeps me very warm, and I love the overall look! The coyote fur is super soft and with my hood up it feels like I'm in my own little bubble, totally protected from the elements, but it is a little odd looking. However, it was pouring one day, so it was convenient that I was able to remove the fur. I'm 5'11" and the length on the arms is perfect...unless I'm trying to do jumping jacks or play volleyball in the coat. I'm also about 170 pounds, but most people say I look skinnier than that number sounds....I'm fairly muscular and ALL legs. The large fits me perfectly! I love this coat and although very expensive, I plan to wear it for at least 10 winters before I'll need a new one! I chose graphite to help cover up the wear, so my plan should work!
"If you're looking for warmth, get Canada Goose."
I've got Patagonia, Columbia, North Face but Canada Goose beats them all. This coat is really warm, high quality, feminine and flattering. I love, love, love this coat! As far as sizing goes I'm 125lbs, got a small and it fits perfectly.
This is a truly well made coat, having read the reviews, I ordered a L I'm 5ft 3ins and weigh 132 lbs bust 36 have no waist and am not big in the hips, the coat was fine in the chest area (I like my clothes a LITTLE loose) but much to big around the hips so I'm going to try M. I think it will be the perfect warmth for tooling around here (Maine)
I live in WI and decided to get a real winter coat before going to Iceland. Worried I was too influenced by my love for Canada instead of the awesomeness of the coat itself, but when I took it out the coyote ruff danced in the air; wearing it was like 1000 tiny geese hugging me. 5'5 130lb w/busty chest, the M fit like a glove. In Reykjavik, I wasn't the only one wearing this amazing coat - men and women everywhere donned this beauty. But did it do the job? True test came at 3AM, after two of us were forced to sleep in the car for a night. I used this coat as a blanket and slept like a baby, while my friend shivered all night. Been talking about this coat ever since. Worth every penny.
"It is much better than the item description!"
I received this coat just in time for the big chill. I have been looking for a coat which is suitable for the very cold weather and also stylish; another word, it means that I don't look like carrying lots of muffin top or eating too much donuts. It comes with great style, beautiful, rich fur, and a very high-end qualiy of materials and craftsmanship. It runs a little on smaller side. According the sizing chart I should order a size M, but instead I ordered a Large. It works great! It 'hugs' well with my body (I am 5'5", 135 lbs, a size 6/8), fitted very nicely. But I am also able to add an extra sweater if I need to without looking bulky.
"2nd time buying this jacket because it's that dope.... Wish Moosejaw had it the 1st time I bought it"
Like I said, this is the 2nd time I bought this jacket for my wife. The only reason I bought it for her again is because her other one is in white, and white just doesn't stay white. It gets dirty easily. So I got it for her in Navy and she loves it even more. It definitely keeps her warm in the coldest temperatures and we've been having some harsh chills here lately in NYC. As for the fit of the jacket, she normally wears XS but this is a slim fitted jacket so you might want to size up.
This is a well-made and very warm parka (it was a gift for someone). It fits a tad snug, definitely more for the slender women in sizing. It is heavy in the hand, but when wearing is quite comfortable. Pockets are ok, need to be a tad deeper. The straps to wear it over the shoulders when indoors are a nice feature. Fur trim is just ok. Is not cut like the picture, or as full, but at least it is soft and removed if desired. Would definitely repeat the purchase, especially if the price were a bit lower.
