Just got this coat and even though I thought spending so much on it was going to be ridiculous I'll tell you right now the money was well spent. You can wear this thing with just a shirt under and you will not feel the cold anywhere on your arms or torso. We've been having major cold weather here in NYC this winter and having this coat is a godsend. Many reviews I read said to buy a size down because the coat runs big and that was very true. I usually wear an XL. I'm 5'9, 220lbs. I ended up buying the Large and it fit great. The masses were right so I would say definitely buy at least 1 size down.
This is my second Canada Goose parka that I have bought, the first being a Citadel parka. Two totally different jackets. The Expedition is a larger fit for sure but I do not find it as extreme as some have made it out to be. Maybe owning a Citadel, which is a much more slim and trim fit, allows me to appreciate the roominess the Expedition offers for an extra layer of clothing. Not that the Expedition is not warm because it is. I just went for a walk in -13 F temperatures with just a t-shirt on underneath the Expedition with not a worry in the world. As far as fit goes, I am 5' 10" and weigh 170 pounds and I found the medium perfect for my needs.
I'm 6'2 210lbs. Initially purchased a size large. Even with layers on coat ran really large. Size down from what you ordinarily wear was appropriate as others have mentioned. Coat feels heavy when you pick it up yet does not feel as heavy once you put it on. Customer service was awesome getting me out a medium Would definitely order from site again.
I find the Canada Goose Men's Expedition Parka extremely well made and well designed for extreme cold weather climates. It may be a bit too warm for the MidAtlantic Region of the US or the Southern Region of the New England. I like the longer length which distinguishes it from a lot of coats currently on the market. If you are looking for solid insulation and superior protection against harsh winter weather, this is the coat to buy. Well worth the money.
"Awesone jacket, but make sure you order the correct size!!!"
So in the UK right now, these jackets are the height of fashion for the uber cool set, footballers, actors, rap pimps and your everyday fashionsista!I normally buy large in jackets, and did the same on this bad boy.....mistake number 1!It arrived no worries via my US office (Canada Goose will not ship outsde the US of A) and I opened the box with all the gusto of a 5 year oold on Christmas morning. The jacket was awesome.....if there were 3 of us and we wanted to use it as a tent! These jackets are HUGE.......I am 6 foot tall and around 75kg, and it buried me.I immediately ordered a replacement, and after speaking to the cool guys at Moosejaw went for a SMALL....yes folks, in this jacket in what Canada Goose describe as a relaxed fit.....a SMALL.It arrived super quick, and I can say now it fits perfect. The jacket itself is amazing, very warm, great quality as you would expect from this premium brand.I would recommend this beauty in a flash, simply the best!
I understand that I am in the minority by rating this coat 3/5 stars. I will say that I did end up returning the coat and I will give you a brief explanation of why. Essentially, this coat is made for people who are constantly exposed to the MOST extreme weather conditions possible. For that purpose, it is a perfect garment. However, if you are going to be even lightly exerting yourself in this coat then you should look toward something "clumsy" like the Rab Neutrino (personal favorite) or the Arc'teryx Therme. If I had to use one word to describe this jacket it would be "excessive" in that most people will never experience the conditions this coat was designed to perform in. If you're looking for a coat to wear during your winter commute don't spend a small fortune when you could get something almost as warm for half the price and subsidize the lack of warmth with a quality base-layer garment.
Now I know what u think why would I spend 850 bucks on a coat this coat is extremely warm it is a little on the expensive side but totally worth it feels like summer in below zero weather I love the hand Warner pockets very nice and very tough aswell the hood is nicely made too it hugs ur face very well I love this coat good for very harsh weather and outside work is done without fear of freezing. - See more at: http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Canada-Goose-Men-s-Expedition-Parka_10099633_10208_10000001_-1_?goReviews=1#pd_addtocart

It really is true...this parka is warm and it will keep you warm even if you had just a t-shirt on. I live in the Mid-West and the climate here during winter goes well below zero. I received this parka just in time when one of our winter ice-blasts hit. The weather was -10˚ and I really wanted to test the quality of this parka, so I only wore a compression base layer and jeans. This thing was amazing...it kept me too warm and in retrospect I could have worn a t-shirt and this parka would have done it's job. I initially ordered a LARGE based on the Canada Goose size chart, but I had to exchange it for a MEDIUM, because it was simply too big. I really don't know why they make this for layering because I don't think you will need to do that with a parka like this. I am 5'10", 210 lbs and I usually wear a LARGE in Patagonia and North Face. I would definitely recommend ordering a size down when buying this product. Two thumbs up...this is an excellent parka!!
this jacket is great, but I'm typically a medium and I ordered a medium and my wife could fit in there with me. It is MASSIVE. Canada goose sizing is very tricky - I ended up keeing a size large citadel, but probably would need a small or xsmall for the expedition. it's a nice coat otherwise, but a serious one at that.
From the windy low 40's to well below "0",this is a comfortable coat. I wore it in a Utah mountain blizzard with fur trimmed hood up and it was like being indoors. It looks great. I get a lot of compliments on it. When you pick it up you notice it's weight of 4lbs, but you don't feel that weight when you are wearing it. For a good fit you have to order it one size smaller than you normally order -- for me, a large instead of the x-large that I normally order. I got mine through the Amazon affiliate Altrec in Oregon. The service was fantastic.
