"Great if no one is teething"
10/26/12
I've used this product for years with little trouble. Occasionally one would wear out and need to be replaced, but I always felt like they lasted for many miles on the trail. It keeps the back of the car dry on the way to the trailhead and then is easy to open once I need access to water.

"Keeps my mouth wet and my butt dry"
10/05/11
I wouldn't say I'm clumsy, but I also wouldn't say I've never sat on the bite-valve of my Camelbak Omega reservoir. The original valve lacks the awesome HydroLock feature, and any time I sat on the valve when taking a break on the trail, I'd end up with a wet behind and an uncomfortable walk. Problem solved! Also, the right angle of the valve in relation to the hose makes it much easier to drink on the move. I can keep the hose behind me and still drink without getting tangled up. A really great addition to the Camelbak.

"more convenient than your little finger"

Camelback makes some terrific gear but this is not one of them. The main issue is that the shut off lever is simply inserted into the unit, so falls out fairly easily. You can lose your water and/or get wet. This is one area I think Platypus has done a better job.

"spill stopper"
03/30/11
I use mine bladder in my pack for multi-day backpacking trips. Most packs including mine have the hydration sleeve either in the main compartmemt or in a pocket that is pressed right up to the main compartment. With a full pack this puts a lot of pressure on a full bladder (no pee jokes...) and this thing keeps unwanted spills at bay.

"Easily broken"

I'm now on my third of these valves. The yellow valve core juts out while closed, making it an easy target for snags on webbing, etc. A few weeks ago, I found myself soaked for the second time due to a valve failure.

I have the non-ergo version for myself. I got these for my brothers. For only 5, I should have bought one for myself.
