I ended up with a size small Siren harness because my friend bought a small but it was too big for her, so she got an extra small and I took hers... That was a long-winded way of saying that this harness seems to run a bit large. Most of my other friends who climb went with the Primrose, but I tried it on and it felt bulkier than I would have liked. I like this one because it's quick and easy to put on and it's nice and light. Also, I like the colors. One thing that may eventually be a problem is that it seems like there is less space for equipment, which is fine for now since I just started and I mostly climb at a gym, but when I get better/start climbing more trad and sport outside I may have to step up to a different one. Also there is no loop for a chalk bag. But, the bottom line is: this is a great, well-made harness for someone who is new and/or looking for comfort and mobility. Another excellent Black Diamond product!
I bought this for myself as my first climbing harness and absolutely love it for a couple reasons. 1) It's incredibly comfortable especially when doing endurance climbs or a high volume of climbs. 2) I love the colors it comes in. I was trying to find a harness that I liked but didn't match with some of the other ladies that I climb with. This was the perfect match and I have gotten several compliments on the way it looks. All in all this is a great harness. The only complaint I could possible come up with is that it doesn't have a loop in the back if you want to latch a chalk bag there.
This is a nice harness. Not Bulky, does what you need it to. I think the sizing is a little small. Accourding to the sizing chart I ordered a XS for my wife. The XS sort of fit. My main complaint with the Harness is that the asymmetrical waist buckle makes all the loops off center if can not tighten almost all the way. I reordered a S and that fit much better. Unfortunately Moosejaw won's accept the XS even with the tags and everything still on it so now I'm stuck trying to sell it online.
I also tried on the Primose and the Petzl Luna and this just fit me so much better. I'm between a women's M & L in pants and the medium harness fit perfectly. The waist fits nicely above my hips correcting my center of gravity and the leg loops find the sweet spot of light and supportive. Everything was easy to adjust and I have room in case I add or lose 20 lbs.I would give it a 5 if it had a chalk bag loop and if the waist & leg loops weren't so stiff. It's tough to put back in the gear bag in came in. The arteryx harnesses are super soft, but I think for half the price, this is a pretty sweet harness.
Got this for my girlfriend who was looking for a better fit in her harness. Harness fits her great without tightness in the legs and lady regions. The speed adjustment belt is also very nice. However she doesn't like that adjustments to the legs are easily loosened. She would normally wear a medium in men's harnesses but with this a medium is a little larger. Sizes overlap so maybe size down from a men's harness.
