I'm a avid trekking pole user and have owned a few pairs over the years. There has been much debate over the merits of trekking poles, and it probably comes down to personal preference more than anything, but I bring them on every trip with any elevation change. For me trekking poles add a little UMPH to get me up steep climbs and a little cushion on the way down. I also own several shelters that integrate them as "tent" poles. Some people prefer fixed length poles, but adjustable poles are more versatile (though heavier.)These poles are some of my favorites for a couple of reasons:-Simple, secure flip lock design-Super comfortable grips-Sturdy designThat said, there are a few things that are lacking-I prefer cork grips for my sweaty hands (though these grips are very comfortable)-No OEM camera mount option (unlike my Leki poles)That being said, for the price I don't know if you can find better poles. I'm a fan!
